About the role

Bring your expertise to where it matters. In this role, you\'ll contribute to meaningful O&M assignments in the nuclear power sector—supporting Fortum\'s nuclear fleet and external customers in a variety of different assignments.

We are looking for an expert who has experience and competencies closely related to either power plant operations or maintenance (O&M). In this role you will have a great opportunity to participate in O&M assignments in the nuclear power sector in an expert role and support Fortum nuclear fleet and external nuclear customers.

Your position in the organization is in the Strategic Engineering and O&M department of the Engineering & Projects (E&P) business area, located in Espoo, Finland. The department has a wide range of different competencies which are utilized on supporting safe and efficient operation of the Loviisa nuclear power plant, our co-owned nuclear units, external nuclear customers, the development of new nuclear and nuclear R&D activities in Fortum.

Your tasks and focus areas can differ between different projects and assignments, and may include tasks such as:

  • Operating model and concept development, outage and work planning, operation planning, instructions and procedures development and review, maintenance engineering and maintenance strategy as well as review of customer or supplier documentation
  • Contribute to the development of O&M strategy for nuclear newcomer utility and for new nuclear facilities
  • Contribute to the development of an operation readiness roadmap for a nuclear newcomer utility and for new nuclear facilities
  • Support in aging management related assignments
  • Contribute to the development of O&M competences and capabilities within the E&P organization in cooperation with the O&M organization of Loviisa NPP

More detailed focus areas and assignments are determined based on the applicant\'s experience, for example whether more focus is put in operations or maintenance related tasks.

The position\'s location is in Espoo, Finland. However occasional travelling to Fortum fleet locations and to external international customers are to be expected.

About you

We expect you to already have a strong experience and competencies in either operations or maintenance, ideally in both. Also experience from aging management, specification and qualification of systems or components can be valuable in this role. Naturally past experience from nuclear power sector is also appreciated.

You are proactive in your work assignments and also have a development-oriented mindset. You are ready to participate in wide range of different O&M related assignments and are not hesitant to take on new challenges or assignments.

You have relevant technical education and working with different stakeholders comes naturally for you. You have good communication and interpersonal skills. You are proficient in English, both spoken and written. Finnish skills are considered an advantage.
