Job summary

Winthrop Technologies Ltd in Vaasa, Finland, is seeking an experienced Environmental Engineer to support environmental management across our project lifecycle, ensuring compliance with regulations and sustainability standards on large data centre construction projects.

You will monitor site environmental performance, conduct inspections and audits, coordinate with project teams and subcontractors, assist in waste management and energy efficiency initiatives, and ensure all documentation is up to

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science, or similar discipline.
3–5 years' experience in environmental engineering within construction or infrastructure projects.
Strong knowledge of environmental regulations, standards, and best practices.
Experience supporting environmental management on construction or infrastructure projects.
Strong analytical, organisational, and problem-solving skills.
Good communication and stakeholder coordination abilities.
Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary project team.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to sustainability.
Data centre, industrial, or mission-critical project experience is advantageous.

Responsibilities

Support the implementation of environmental management systems and processes across the project lifecycle.
Ensure compliance with environmental legislation, regulations, and project-specific requirements.
Monitor environmental performance on site, including waste management, emissions, and resource usage.
Conduct environmental inspections, audits, and risk assessments to identify and mitigate environmental impacts.
Coordinate with project teams, subcontractors, and stakeholders to promote environmentally responsible practices.
Assist in the development and implementation of environmental plans, including waste management and sustainability strategies.
Monitor and report on environmental KPIs and performance metrics.
Attend Site Meetings, Environmental Meetings, and Project Reviews.
Advise site teams on environmental compliance and best practices.
Support initiatives to improve sustainability performance, including energy efficiency and waste reduction.
Identify environmental risks and support their mitigation and resolution.
