Our client is seeking an Environmental Advisor to join one of their projects in Finland. You will work with highly experienced, culturally diverse, and passionate teams that nurture a strong social dynamic and a shared sense of achievement. In this role, you will:
  • Monitor and enforce compliance with Finnish environmental legislation, regulations, permits, and company environmental procedures across site operations
  • Obtain, manage, and track all necessary environmental permits, licenses, and approvals from local and regional authorities
  • Conduct regular site inspections, audits, and environmental risk assessments, reporting on performance and identifying non-compliance issues
  • Develop and deliver toolbox talks and environmental awareness training to project teams and contractors
  • Collaborate with Construction, Safety, and Project Management teams to advise on environmental risks, constraints, and mitigation measures
  • Liaise with municipalities, government bodies, and third-party stakeholders on environmental matters affecting the site
  • Maintain accurate records of environmental incidents, complaints, inspections, and permit conditions
  • Lead investigations into environmental incidents, ensuring corrective and preventive actions are implemented and tracked
  • Provide monthly environmental performance reports to project leadership and the Environmental Manager
  • Support the development and continuous improvement of project-specific Environmental Management Plans and procedures.
We would love to hear from you if you have:
  • A degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field
  • 7+ years’ experience in a senior role, with a minimum of 3+ years in the construction sector
  • Previous experience as an Environmental Consultant, Environmental Manager, or EHS Advisor/Lead/Specialist in construction
  • Strong knowledge of Finnish environmental legislation and permitting processes
  • Experience liaising with municipalities and environmental authorities
  • Excellent communication skills in English (Finnish language skills are a strong advantage)
  • The right to work in Finland.
