Engineering Manager, Unified Privacy Platform

Job summary

Wolt is seeking an Engineering Manager to lead the Unified Privacy Platform team. You’ll guide backend and platform engineers responsible for privacy and consent infrastructure across multiple brands, including the Privacy Center and User Consent Platform.

You will balance legal accuracy, user trust, security, and developer velocity while delivering scalable, self-service privacy capabilities and cross-brand collaboration across teams and geographies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s, master’s or doctoral degree in Computer Science or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
• 3+ years of people management leading backend or platform teams.
• 8+ years of industry experience in software engineering or leadership roles.
• Experience designing large-scale distributed systems, APIs, policies/rules engines, and data-lifecycle systems.
• Familiarity with privacy, consent, data governance, GDPR/CCPA and related regulations.
• Ability to translate ambiguous requirements into clear platform boundaries and roadmaps.
• Strong collaboration with Legal, Product, Design, Security, Data, Marketing and Engineering across brands.

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor a high-performing backend/platform engineering team.
• Define technical strategy for the Privacy Center and Unified Privacy Platform.
• Build cross-brand User Consent Platform with policy/config management and SDKs.
• Deliver self-service consent and data-rights experiences (RTF/RTI/DSAR).
• Turn regulatory requirements into scalable platform capabilities.
• Migrate to a single source of truth across brands while ensuring compatibility.
• Define contracts with data-governance and storage teams; ensure traceability.
• Provide architectural guidance for distributed, secure systems with audit trails.
• Partner with recruiting to attract diverse engineering talent.
