Job summary

Wärtsilä Oyj Abp in Vaasa invites engineers to join the emission measurement team at the STH Plant. You will measure emissions on production and test engines, help create new measurement methods, and automate routine tests. The role offers growth toward advanced methods in fuel gas analysis and particulates.

You will maintain and calibrate equipment, collaborate with a diverse team, and contribute to robust measurement practices in a dynamic research environment.

Your role and responsibilities

We operate in the STH Plant, close to the test cells in the Hub and Research Lab. We strive to continuously improve our measurement methods and maintain our equipment in top condition. You’ll be working as part of a dedicated team with diverse expertise. Your work will focus on these responsibilities:

• Carry out emission measurements in STH on production engines, test engines, and single-cylinder research engines
• Be part of a team developing new methods for emission measurements and continue the ongoing work of automating recurring emission measurements
• Develop your knowledge and expertise in the emission measurement area in the longer term, to also cover fuel gas analysis, measurement of particulates, and/or other more advanced methods
• Perform maintenance and calibration of the emission measurement equipment

• Relevant technical education (BSc or MSc, or equivalent, in Chemical, Environmental, Automation, or Electrical Engineering)
• Good understanding of technology and product development
• Strong internal motivation, passion for execution, and drive to get things completed,
