Team Leader Embedded GNSS Software

The Job

We are looking for an experienced and motivated Team Leader to guide and inspire a team of talented software engineers. As a Team Leader, you will be responsible for leading the team in delivering high-quality software solutions, ensuring alignment with company goals, and fostering an environment of collaboration and innovation. You will play a key role in shaping the team’s culture, ensuring productivity, and helping engineers grow in their careers.

Your mission

You mentor and motivate team members to achieve individual and team goals. Acting as a bridge between management and the team, you ensure alignment with company objectives. You foster a positive work environment, resolving conflicts and promoting teamwork. You take ownership of technical decision-making, architecture, and system design. You conduct regular performance evaluations, provide constructive feedback, and identify training needs.

In collaboration with your colleagues, you refine the algorithms and define and implement the architecture of our next-generation GNSS firmware as a portable software library, running efficiently on our state-of-the-art embedded platform. You work closely with peer Software Engineers and GNSS Algorithms Experts to develop flexible, modular, and efficient high-quality software in C++. You contribute to the definition, selection, and continuous improvement of our development methodologies and tools. You take a proactive attitude towards bringing products to the market and focus on customer needs.

You are a key contributor to the development of Septentrio next generation GNSS firmware. The firmware computes centimeter level position, cm/s velocity and sub-degree orientation based on GNSS ranges coupled with additional sensors such as accelerometers, gyros, a magnetometer, and an odometer.

Your qualifications

As a leader:

• You have proven experience in a leadership or supervisory role.
• You can inspire, mentor, and develop team members.

As a software engineer:

• You have at least 5 years’ experience in Embedded Software Engineering, preferably in a role of architect in an industrial context
• You have C++ experience at a level where you understand not only the basic C++ language but also concepts like templates and their limitations.
• You are familiar with the refinement and the implementation and optimization of complex numerical analysis algorithms
• You have experience working in memory- and CPU-constrained environments and you have worked in RTOS, as well as linux-style environments and perhaps even multi-CPU systems.
• You are familiar with SW development in domains like GNSS, signal processing, control or robotics.
• You are familiar and proficient with concepts like linear algebra, matrix decompositions, Kalman filters, statistics, numerical analysis, statistical FDE and you understand the issue of numerical precision.

As a person:

• You hold a Master Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Sciences or equivalent
• You are proactive, structured, and have an analytical and problem-solving mindset.
• You have good communication and interpersonal skills and are fluent in English (written and spoken)
