Job summary

SPX AtoN in Porvoo, Finland, is seeking a hands-on Hardware Engineer to join our engineering team. You will lead embedded hardware development, focusing on PCB design and prototyping, taking concepts through schematics to working hardware.

You will work closely with firmware, software and systems engineers; onsite testing during prototype phase with hybrid work during the design phase. A degree in electronics and practical PCB/schematic experience are required.

Qualifications

Bachelor-level degree in Electronics or related field.
Strong PCB and schematic design experience.
Experience with embedded hardware development lifecycle.
Proficient with Altium Designer; PADS is a plus.
Good English communication skills.

Responsibilities

Design and develop embedded electronic hardware, with a strong focus on PCB design.
Create schematics, PCB layouts and manufacturing files using Altium Designer.
Develop and test prototypes, taking ownership of your designs through the testing phase.
Research new technologies and identify opportunities to improve existing designs.
Translate product and system requirements into practical hardware solutions.
Create technical specifications, test plans and design documentation.
Work closely with systems, firmware/software, test and project engineering teams.
Analyse existing designs and identify opportunities for modification and improvement.
Ensure designs meet relevant EMC, safety, environmental and industry standards.
Contribute to continuous improvement of engineering processes and ways of working.
