Job summary

Eltel Networks Oy in Finland is seeking a hands-on Electrical Supervisor to lead on-site electrical construction at data center projects. You will manage installation workflows, enforce safety, and coordinate with commissioning engineers to ensure rapid, Right-First-Time execution.

The role requires strong knowledge of MV/LV distribution, PTW/LOTO, and SFS standards, with experience supervising subcontractors on industrial facilities.

This is a 100% site-based role tailored for an energetic and solution‑oriented professional who thrives in a fast‑paced construction environment, loves velocity, and excels in leading execution safely and efficiently directly on the field.

Your key responsibilities

• Pre-Mobilization & Constructability Verification: Review electrical designs, models, and technical drawings from a practical contractor's perspective before site mobilization. Identify potential installation clashes, assess layout feasibility, and proactively suggest constructability improvements.

• On‑Site Supervision & Quality Control (QA/QC): Manage day-to-day electrical installation workflows on-site. Oversee for example cable containment routing, cable and busbar installations. Drive a strict 'Right First Time' quality culture, ensuring all torque marks, cable pull tension logs, and inspection sheets are digitally documented.

• HSE Leadership & Energy Isolation: Maintain rigid adherence to Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) protocols. Lead sureness around specialized Permit to Work (PTW) systems for energized spaces, working at heights, and confined zones. Manage complex Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) protocols to safely isolate energy during construction and commissioning phases.

• Logistics & Material Management: Supervise on‑site materials, track component delivery workflows, perform material take‑offs (including MV and LV cable tracking), and manage subcontractors and crew sourcing to hit strict project timelines.

• Commissioning (Cx) & Interface Management: Partner closely with Commissioning (Cx) Engineers as energization approaches. Coordinate testing activities (including for example Megger insulation resistance and protection relay testing) to ensure an ultra‑smooth, high‑velocity transition from installation to active operations.

What We Are Looking For

• We are looking for a technically astute, assertive, and energetic field leader who enjoys solving real‑time engineering challenges on active construction sites.

  • Strong understanding of SFS standards and the ability to apply their requirements to practical installation workflows on‑site.

• Solid experience as an Electrical Supervisor or General Foreman on industrial sites, substations, or large‑scale mission‑critical electrical construction projects.

• Technical understanding of MV/LV electrical distribution systems (cabling, TX, RMU, busbar, CB etc.), back‑up solutions (UPS and generators) and general construction sequencing.

• Proven track record managing technician and subcontractor groups and site crews in high‑pressure, fast‑paced project environments.

• Strong safety mindset with direct exposure to strict Permit to Work (PTW) systems and operational Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) methodologies.

• Professional communication skills with the ability to operate comfortably in an English‑speakingproject environment.

Desirable Skills (considered an advantage)

• B.Sc. degree in Electrical Engineering or a related technical field (or an applicable strong technical trade background).

• Ability to navigate and work with CAD drawings or 3D models (Autodesk BIM, Dalux, Navisworks).

• Prior experience working inside high‑security or mission‑critical Data Center environments.
