Overview

Barona Engineering is now looking for an Electrical Project Manager for our client MAKINEN in a permanent position. The selected person will be recruited directly to MAKINEN’s organization.

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Project Manager to join MAKINEN’s team of marine interior experts in Turku, Finland. If you are based in the Helsinki area, you may also work from our office in the capital, but regular presence at the Turku office is required. The role also includes global travel, as you will be managing international projects and collaborating with stakeholders around the world.

Your Role

As Electrical Project Manager, you will oversee electrical installation work in demanding marine interior projects. You will ensure that work is carried out according to plans, schedules, and quality standards, while coordinating between internal teams, subcontractors, and clients.

A key part of your role will be in the offering phase, where you manage and collaborate with subcontractors, evaluate the content of bids, and ensure cost-efficient solutions. You will also participate in procurement decisions, including assessing and determining the most viable sourcing options.

Responsibilities
  • Leading and coordinating electrical installation projects in shipbuilding and refurbishment projects
  • Managing schedules, resources, and budgets to meet project targets
  • Taking responsibility for the offering phase: subcontractor tendering, bid content evaluation, and supplier negotiations
  • Participating in procurement decisions to secure the best overall project outcomes
  • Ensuring compliance with quality, safety, and regulatory standards
  • Communicating with clients, partners, and internal stakeholders to ensure smooth project execution
  • Providing technical support and guidance to project teams
What We Expect from You

You are a professional with a strong technical background and proven ability to lead complex projects. You enjoy working in an international environment and have the communication skills needed to manage both internal teams and external partners.

We expect you to have:

  • Relevant technical education (e.g. electrical engineering)
  • Several years of experience in electrical installations or project management, preferably in shipbuilding
  • Experience in the offering/tendering phase and working with subcontractors
  • Strong organizational and leadership skills
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and documentation
  • Fluency in English; Finnish and other languages are an advantage
  • Willingness to travel globally and be regularly present at the Turku office
