Drainage Engineer (PE) – Transportation / Roadway - Orlando, Tallahassee, Tampa or Jacksonville, FL


Halff has an immediate opening for a Drainage Engineer, with their Florida PE License, to join our Transportation / Roadway team in one of our Florida office locations (Orlando, Tallahassee, Tampa or Jacksonville).

The ideal candidate will bring civil engineering design experience with a focus on delivering projects for the drainage design of FDOT roadway projects.

What you will do:

  • Expertise in FDOT Openroads Designer CONNECT Edition
  • Work with the Florida Transportation Practice Leader and Roadway Design Team
  • Design of stormwater management systems, storm drain systems, open channel conveyance, culvert analysis, bridge hydraulics and floodplain compensation
  • Prepare permit applications and documentation for regulatory agency approval
  • Reviewing and certifying projects or the work of others
  • Ability to direct and mentor younger staff
  • Assist in the strategy planning and growth of the Florida Transportation Practice
  • Meeting with clients, contractors, reviewing agency personnel and maintaining professional relationships
What you will need:
  • Bachelor's Degree or Master’s Degree in Civil Engineering or ABET accredited equivalent Engineering degree
  • Must have a minimum of 5 years of experience in civil, public works or transportation project delivery
  • Professional Engineer (PE) License in the state of Florida
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
  • The candidate should have a positive attitude, be self-directed yet a team player and a person of high character with a focus on quality, integrity and success
