A leading company in the marine industry is seeking a Drafter/CAD Technician to create and revise technical drawings for boats. The ideal candidate will have experience in CAD software and a strong attention to detail. You will collaborate with engineers to produce accurate, production-ready plans and maintain drawing archives. This is a key role that supports innovative boat design and engineering projects.

Qualifications

Job description

What You’ll Do:
Create and revise detailed 2D and 3D technical drawings for a variety of boats and their tooling
Work closely with naval architects and marine engineers to translate 3D and specification into production-ready plans
Maintain drawing archives and manage version control
Collaborate with cross-disciplinary teams including structural, mechanical, and systems engineers

What You Bring:
Proven experience as a drafter, CAD technician, or draftsperson in projects, boat industry would be considered a plus.
Proficiency in CAD software (AutoCAD, Rhino or equivalent)
Ability to read and interpret technical specifications and blueprints
Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
A degree or a certification in technical drawing, marine engineering, or related field preferred
Knowledge of marine structural components, shipbuilding methods, and materials would be considered a plus

Technical criteria:

Proficiency in CAD Software: AutoCAD, Rhino or equivalent
Blueprint Reading: Ability to interpret engineering schematics, general arrangements, and manufacturing drawings.
3D Modeling & Rendering: Capable of creating and interpreting 3D models and assemblies.
Understanding of lamination and GRP building is considered a plus.
