Job summary

Elomatic is seeking an experienced Director to lead our Marine PMO and project operations, overseeing a portfolio of complex naval and marine projects. You will lead a ten-person team, collaborate with sales and clients, and drive process alignment with the Group PMO while shaping recruiting and development within the team.

You will be responsible for delivering projects on time and within budget, while fostering global cooperation across engineering and sales.

Qualifications

• B.Sc. or M.Sc. degree in a relevant field (preferably in engineering or technology)
• 10+ years' experience, in project leadership roles in marine industry
• Ability to lead study and pre-engineering projects
• Strong project management skills, including resource management, problem-solving abilities, effective time and organizational skills, and the ability to perform well under pressure and changing priorities
• Project management certificate preferred
• Motivation to lead, coach, and develop people and guide your team towards shared goals
• Fluent communication skills in Finnish and in English
• Willingness to global travel occasionally
• Motivation to work in a global operating environment, taking different time zones into account

Your role and the team

Join us as we strengthen our Project Operations team of ten professionals! The team is part of our Marine business unit, ensuring our projects are executed successfully as well as providing high-end project execution services for our clients. The team also supports project sales and business development.

As a Director, you will play a key role in overseeing our project portfolio and working as a Marine Business Unit PMO, managing and developing our project operations, ensuring efficient, high-quality project execution aligned with our long-term business goals and processes. You shall be responsible for building our project management capability, leading and supporting the current team in a daily leadership role and contributing hands-on to projects when needed.

You will also drive business growth by identifying new opportunities, building customer relationships, and ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards. In addition, you will contribute to recruitment, subcontracting decisions, and the development of expertise within your team and discipline.

As the Marine PMO, you will be working closely with the Elomatic Group PMO to ensure our project management processes are aligned and further developed according to business needs. You'll also work closely with sales to provide engineering and technology support, contribute to proposals, and strengthen client relationships. Additionally, you play a key role in ensuring effective collaboration between internal and external stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle, from initial sales activities to successful project delivery.

The ideal candidate is an experienced project management professional with hands‑on senior project management experience in the marine industry. You are motivated to drive successful projects by leading people and actively contributing to project delivery while working closely with customers.
