Job description

Do you enjoy partnering with senior leadership and driving strategic HR initiatives? We are now looking for a passionate and experienced Business HR professional to join our People & Culture team in a pivotal role supporting our Corporate Functions.

In this role, you will be working closely with senior leaders and coordinating impactful HR initiatives across our global organization. You will serve as a trusted advisor to function SVP’s and leadership teams, supporting their strategic initiatives and talent development, ensuring the professional implementation of people processes and services.

Your ability to lead change and transformation, foster collaboration, and drive strategic people initiatives will be key to your success. The position is based in Finland (Espoo) and reports to the VP, Business HR.

Key Responsibilities
  • Align people strategies with functions’ objectives and global HR initiatives.
  • Manage strategic resources and competencies to support functions’ goals.
  • Lead organizational design, change management, and competency development.
  • Drive employee engagement.
  • Lead talent development in the functions.
  • Provide HR expertise in transformational and development programs and projects.
  • Serve as a member of the function leadership team.
  • Implement Valmet’s HR policies and execute the annual people processes.
Expectations
  • Proven experience as an HR Business Partner or similar role in a global context, with some experience from industrial companies.
  • Advanced degree in HR, Psychology, Business, or related field.
  • 8–10 years of full-time work experience in strategic HR domains.
  • Exceptional communication skills and ability to influence executive stakeholders.
  • Strong relationship-building and negotiation skills across cultures.
  • High emotional intelligence, credibility, and transformation mindset.
  • Ability to foster psychological safety and collaboration in dynamic environments.
  • Fluent in English.
