Role

You are applying for a Director, Engineering to join the UPM Biorefining team. The position location will be in one of our sites - Helsinki, Lappeenranta, Finland or Leuna, Germany.

What you will do
  • Lead, manage and strengthen a multidisciplinary engineering (Process, Mechanical, EIA, Civil etc.) team for capital investment (CAPEX) projects of a biofuels and biochemical production company
  • Establish project engineering for bio, petrochemical and refining projects
  • Drive continuous improvement and innovation in engineering processes
  • Oversee the planning, execution and delivery of multiple large-scale engineering projects, including qualification and selection of external providers (EPCM, engineering companies, contractors, etc.)
  • Ensure all engineering deliverables meet UPM\'s standards
  • Communicate and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders
Who you are
  • You have extensive experience (10 years +) in engineering management and CAPEX projects, preferably in (petro)chemical, (bio)refining or related industries
  • You have strong leadership, project management and problem-solving skills. You possess excellent communication skills
  • You have proven track record of successfully delivering large-scale, complex engineering projects
  • You have a degree in engineering or a related field
  • You are fluent in English (spoken and written). German or Finnish language skill is a plus
