Private Equity-backed international growth platform
We are working with Evondos Group - a fast-growing, private equity-backed company (c. €100m ARR, 500 employees) that is entering its next phase of development. With clear buy-and-build strategy and international expansion underway, the business is transforming into a multi-country, multi-currency group with global ambitions.
The company operates as a medtech hardware business with a subscription model and is transitioning towards a platform-based model. This creates a complex financial environment spanning recurring revenue, device economics, and operational deployment.
Evondos Group is Europe's leading provider of automated medication dispensing services. Through its Evondos and Medido service robots, the Group helps older people and long-term patients live safely and independently at home. Evondos serves several hundred care organisations and municipalities across the Nordics, the Netherlands, and the UK, and has safeguarded the correct dispensing of well over 100 million medication doses.
The Group is headquartered in Helsinki, with production and key operations in Salo, Finland. Evondos is private-equity-owned and operates at a fast pace: the Group is growing strongly both organically and through acquisitions and is expanding into new markets and product categories.
To support this journey, we are seeking a Director Accounting & Financial Control who will build and lead a best-in-class end-to-end financial accounting, reporting, and compliance operations for the company and act as a key partner to the CFO, CEO, and wider leadership team.
The Role
This is a build position with significant impact. You will develop and lead the Accounting & Financial Control function, ensuring it meets the standards of a PE-backed, internationally scaling organisation.
You will:
- Own end-to-end financialaccounting, reporting, and compliance operations
- Ensure accurate, timely and scalable financial processes to support rapid international growth
- Design the target structure and organization of the company’s entire accounting function
- Deliver board, investor, and lender reporting
- Drive profitability and performance discussions across the business
- Build and develop a high-performing Accounting-team
This role goes beyond controls — you will underpin decisions and bring clear financial insights to senior leadership.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement the future operating model of the Group's accounting function: organization, roles, in-house vs. outsourced work, and an AI-first way of working.
- Lead and continuously improve group-wide operational accounting: accounts receivable, accounts payable, travel & expenses, payments, and cash management.
- Own the monthly, quarterly, and annual close and deliver high-quality, investor-grade financial statements (IFRS / local GAAP) within agreed deadlines.
- Drive the internationalization of accounting: set up local entities, adapt processes, and ensure compliance when entering new markets.
- Support the Group's M&A agenda: participate in financial due diligence and own the accounting integration of acquired companies (processes, systems, reporting, and controls).
- Maintain and evolve the Group's transfer pricing, tax, and equity policies; proactively optimize the tax position and liquidity to support strong international growth.
- Contribute to ESG reporting to investors and other key stakeholders.
- Design and implement internal controls, segregation of duties, and fraud-prevention measures across the Group.
- Own the document management for finance, administration, and legal (digitalization and archiving).
- Leverage AI as far as possible across accounting and administration: identify and implement AI and automation solutions (AI agents, RPA, AI-powered reconciliation, predictive cash flow, automated reporting) to substantially reduce manual work.
- Partner with the CFO and the leadership team on ad-hoc finance and administrative projects.
- A clearly defined and implemented target operating model for the Group's accounting function, with AI and automation at its core.
- A world-class close process: monthly close within five working days and zero material audit adjustments.
- An investor-grade, audit-clean accounting, tax, equity, and document management framework.
- Smooth, scalable finance operations across existing and new markets.
- Fast, disciplined accounting integration of acquired companies into Group processes and reporting.
- Full compliance with tax authorities, regulators, and investor requirements — zero findings.
- A significant step-up in automation and AI adoption: at least a 30% reduction in manual journal entries and reconcilations within 24 months.
Candidate Profile
We are looking for a high-calibre finance professional who combines strong accounting acumen with analytical depth and a pragmatic, hands-on approach.
- 8+ years in accounting, controlling, or audit, including at least 3 years in a leadership role in a scaling international organization.
- Strong experience in international accounting, multi-entity consolidation, and setting up operations in new countries.
- Advanced IFRS and local GAAP knowledge; practical experience with transfer pricing and tax matters.
- A proven track record of implementing automation and AI tools in finance (e.g. RPA, Power Automate, AI-assisted reconciliation, ERP enhancements).
- Excellent ERP skills (preferably NetSuite or similar) and advanced Excel.
- Fluency in Finnish and English.
- Master's degree in accounting, finance, or equivalent.
Nice-to-haves:
- Experience in MedTech, manufacturing or another regulated industry.
- Experience in private-equity-owned or otherwise investor-reporting-intensive environments.
- M&A experience: financial due diligence and/or post-merger accounting integration.
- Experience designing or reorganizing a finance/accounting operating model (e.g. transformation, shared services, outsourcing decisions).
- Dutch or other additional languages.
Leadership & Mindset
You are:
- High accuracy and a structured working style; thrives in a fast-paced, scaling environment.
- Ability to understand complexity, prioritize effectively, and focus on what matters.
- Strong sense of responsibility and ownership; proactive in identifying inconsistencies.
- Collaborative mindset across departments and a drive to keep developing professionally
- Focused on delivering impact, not just reporting
- An effective team builder and developer of talent
This is a unique opportunity to take a pivotal finance leadership role in a company at an inflection point. You will play a central role in shaping the financial foundation of a business scaling internationally through both organic growth and acquisitions, while helping transform it from a hardware-led model into a data- and platform-driven organisation.
The opportunity represents a group-level leadership role with genuine ownership of the finance backbone of a fast-growing, purpose-driven European MedTech company. In a private-equity-owned, fast-paced environment you will shape how a scaling international group runs its accounting, compliance, M&A integration, and automation agenda, working directly with the CFO and the Group leadership team — in a business whose product measurably improves the daily lives of older people across Europe.
