Job summary

Valmet is seeking a Development Engineer to shape the future of manufacturing through data. You will develop reporting, analytics and digital workflows, turning production and business data into actionable insights to drive improvements in operations.

The role focuses on building Power BI reports and data models for Tampere and Lapua workshops, enabling informed decision-making and continuous improvement. Fluency in Finnish and English is expected.

Qualifications

• BSc or MSc in Information Technology, Computer Science, Data Analytics or a related field.
• Experience with reporting, analytics, digital solutions or process development.
• Understanding of manufacturing environments and industrial operations.
• Knowledge of reporting and analytics tools such as Power BI.
• Understanding of LEAN principles and continuous improvement is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain reporting solutions to support decision-making in Tampere and Lapua workshops.
• Design and maintain data models and reporting structures for reliable business information.
• Build, maintain and enhance Power BI reports, semantic models and KPI dashboards for production, quality and operational performance.
• Identify bottlenecks and support digital solutions and automation tools.
• Collaborate with production, development and digitalization stakeholders and contribute to Valmet-wide digitalization initiatives.
