Job summary

Academic Work Finland Oy is seeking a skilled observability engineer to design, develop, and maintain monitoring views and dashboards for insightful data visualization. You will configure diverse data sources, script automation, and troubleshoot issues within a compact, collaborative team.

The role offers a hybrid work model with up to 2 remote days per week, plus support and guidance from colleagues. A background in IT & telecom and English fluency are valued.

Qualifications

• Bachelor level or higher in a technical field.
• Minimum 3 years of related work experience.
• Strong observability fundamentals: metrics, logs, traces.
• Experience configuring data sources (Prometheus, InfluxDB, AppDynamics).
• Good dashboard design using panels, rows, variables/templating, transformations.

About the role

In this role, you will design, develop, and maintain observability solutions to provide end users with critical insights. You will work within a compact team focused on creating robust data flows and intuitive dashboards.

Work tasks

Together with your team, you will be responsible for the end-to-end development of monitoring views, from configuring diverse data sources to scripting automation and troubleshooting technical issues.

• Participate actively in team’s own planning sessions, suggest improvements, and bring new ideas
• Co-operate with other technical experts and various other stakeholders
• Participate in implementation work and troubleshoot any technical issues on your own area

We are looking for

We are looking for person who has:

• Graduate degree in Computer Science, Telecommunication, or a related field
• Minimum 3 years of corresponding work experience
• Strong skills and knowledge of observability fundamentals including metrics, logs, and traces
• Skills with data source configuration from various sources such as Prometheus, InfluxDB, or AppDynamics
• Good knowledge of data visualization best practices and dashboard design (panels, rows, variables/templating, transformations)
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and provisioning
• Proficiency in JSON and scripting with Bash or Python
• Advanced analysis and troubleshooting skills
• Fluent English communication skills

It is meritorious if you have

• Hands-on experience with Splunk and/or AppDynamics
• Practical experience using PowerBI for statistical visualization
• Experience working in international projects using agile methodologies

For at least the first 6 months, you will work on an assignment for our client in the banking industry. A credit check will be conducted for the selected individual.
