Job summary

Swedium Global in Helsinki is seeking a Data Engineer to design and operate scalable data pipelines on Databricks, driving value from data through a Lakehouse approach. The role requires deep expertise in Spark-based technologies, Python/PySpark, and cloud platforms (AWS/Azure).

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, mentor stakeholders, and ensure robust data governance and delivery excellence. This is a hands-on, in-person position with opportunities to influence data strategy and

Qualifications

• Strong expertise in Databricks, Genie, Spark, Delta Lake, Unity Catalog and related tools.
• Proficient in Python, PySpark and SQL for ETL/data transformation.
• Experience with DataOps and CI/CD pipelines.
• Cloud knowledge on AWS and Azure; enterprise ITSM experience.
• Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management.

Responsibilities

• Databricks platform service, governance, and technical management.
• Convert business ideas into scalable data solutions.

Your work will focus on these responsibilities:

• Databricks platform service and technical management and governance
• Handling business demand and turning business ideas into value adding solutions
• Solution and Service & Design: Develop scalable, secure, and leveraging the Lakehouse model, Delta Lake, and Unity Catalog for governance etc.
• Provide expert advice, best practices, and training to customer teams on Databricks features and data engineering
• Influence and support technical project delivery, manage scope, resolve blockers, and ensure adherence to best practices and quality standards. Act as a trusted advisor
• Stay current with new Databricks features

To be able to succeed in the position, we expect you to have:

• Strong expertise in Databricks, Genie, Apache Spark, Delta Lake, Unity Catalog, DLT, Workflows, and SQL Warehouses etc.
• Practical experience in Python, PySpark, and SQL for ETL/data transformation
• Experience with DataOps, CI/CD
• Cloud platform knowledge (AWS, Azure)
• Strong experience and understanding about enterprise level IT service management
• Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills
