Cost Manager / Quantity Surveyor (Electrical)

Location: Kouvola, Finland

The Project:

Our new Finland HQ is based in Helsinki. Due to ongoing demand for our services in Finland we looking for an Electrical Project Manager to work on-site. We are the Owners Representative PMC for the Construction, Fit-Out, Commissioning and Handover of a 50MW Data Centre in Kouvola, 90 minutes outside of Helsinki.

The Opportunity:

In This Role You Will:

• Management of the Electrical Systems package.
• Lead the MEP commercial management of large-scale data centre construction and fit-out projects from inception through completion.
• Provide cost planning, estimation, and contract administration throughout all project phases.
• Manage budgets, forecasts, and financial risk while ensuring projects are delivered on time and within agreed cost parameters.
• Oversee procurement strategies, tendering processes, and negotiation of key contracts.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders, external contractors, and consultants to drive best value and commercial efficiency.
• Monitor project performance, variations, and claims to ensure contractual obligations are met.
• Validation of all tender and construction budgets to ensure strict compliance to agreed Margins
• Oversee the generation of Internal Monthly Cost Report / Month End Reviews to ensure compliance with validated margins.
• Assessment and agreement of sub-contractor and supplier variations
• Ensure compliance with Contract Programme/Schedule
• Actively manage dispute resolution and/or claims should they arise in conjunction with the Commercial Manager / General Contractor.
• Review all incoming correspondence from Employers, Design Team and /or contractors, to identify contractually critical items and to initiate replies.
• Manage the risk and opportunity management process for the project.
• Work closely and mentor where necessary the commercial Staff and management as required
• Ensure that all contracts are administered correctly, inclusive of notices and contractual letters where required to mitigate risk.
• All other duties associated with that role.

The Requirements:

• Relevant Electrical Qualification essential eg. Masters or Bachelor’s degree in engineering
• Previous experience in Project Management
• Proven record of coordinating and managing large installation projects
• Strong understanding of M&E systems, installation methods, and associated costs.
• Excellent numerical, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
• Strong negotiation and communication skills.
• Site/office based role five days a week.
• Experienced in Design and Build Construction environment with experience in Commercial, Industrial, Pharma or Data Centre type projects.
• Good technical knowledge of both Electrical and Mechanical systems
