Job summary

Would you like to cook good food in a patriotically significant working environment? We are looking for a COOK for the good food special forces of Garrison Restaurant Tähti, who take care of the food supply of the Jaeger Brigade specialized in arctic conditions in Sodankylä!

What is this about?

The army does not march on an empty stomach and food plays an important role in the endurance of conscripts. You and all your colleagues at Garrison Restaurant Tähti are in a key role to ensure that conscripts have enough strength to perform their military service. Our customers truly appreciate the cook's work - they eat good food made by you and your colleagues four times a day. In addition to conscript dining, we also set the lunch table for the personnel of the Defence Forces.

The work of a cook in a garrison restaurant is versatile and we prepare food in large pots using Leijona's own recipes. We are where our customers are, and sometimes that also means grabbing the soup ladle in the pine forest. Our tables are filled with customers every day of the year, so you don't have to worry about seasonal variations or summer layoffs. Your working hours vary between Mon-Sat 5-19.30 and Sun 8-17. Experience in large-scale catering is considered an advantage, but it is not essential.

Essential recruitment criteria

A cook's degree gives you the skills to prepare good and healthy food. The length of work experience can be replaced by a willingness to learn and a brisk work attitude. Hygiene passport. Our working language is Finnish and our recipes are available only in Finnish. We expect good Finnish language skills. Your workplace is located in the garrison area, and our customer requires a security clearance for those working in the area. A condition for concluding the employment relationship is an approved security clearance and we will help you in doing this.
