Responsibilities

  • Act as the primary point of contact for all (external) local communications‑related matters at Sakatti, providing guidance, coordination, and support to internal stakeholders and directing requests as appropriate.
  • Work independently to plan, prioritise, and deliver communications activities, effectively managing competing demands, while reporting progress and risks to the manager and using modern IT tools to support organisation, collaboration, and delivery.
  • Participate in the planning and coordination of communication events in collaboration with relevant internal and external stakeholders, supporting local initiatives such as recruitment fairs and community events. Take ownership of some events preparation, including coordination of presenters, logistics, materials, and on‑site support.
  • Proactively drive branding and visibility initiatives within scope of the role, supporting events and recruitment activities to enhance brand awareness and employer attractiveness. Ensure alignment with brand guidelines while adapting content and materials to local needs.
  • Develop communication content for social media, articles, and presentation materials, taking responsibility for idea generation, drafting, and design. Ensure all content is reviewed and approved by the Principal prior to distribution in the public domain.
  • Upload and manage social media posts on Facebook and LinkedIn, ensuring content is published correctly, on time, and in line with approved messaging and brand guidelines
  • Request and coordinate approved website edits via the external website provider, ensuring content remains accurate, up to date, and aligned with brand guidelines.
  • Coordinate the management of communication materials and images, liaising with photographers to plan and manage photoshoots, and maintaining an up‑to‑date and well‑organised photo library for communication use

The Sakatti deposit is located in Finnish Lapland near the town of Sodankylä, and within the existing exploration permit areas fully owned by Anglo American Sakatti Mining Oy, a wholly owned subsidiary of Anglo American Plc. The Sakatti deposit is a unique, poly‑metallic deposit that contains seven payable metals, including copper, nickel, cobalt, platinum, palladium, gold, and silver. The mine is targeted to produce two concentrates, high‑grade copper and nickel concentrates but has optionality available to produce a bulk Cu‑Ni concentrate.

Working closely with the Principal Corporate Affairs and Communication, you will lead the coordination and delivery of impactful communications through social media, events, presentations, digital channels, and community initiatives. From creating compelling content and enhancing employer brand visibility to supporting recruitment fairs, managing media monitoring, coordinating photoshoots, and ensuring a consistent brand presence, you will be at the heart of bringing Sakatti's story to life.
