Job summary

The United Nations University World Institute for Development Economics Research (UNU-WIDER) in Helsinki seeks a Communications Assistant to support website administration, content creation, events, and digital production.

Under the supervision of the Communications Officer, you will draft promotional copy, manage social media, maintain metadata, and help with branding; the PSA contract is for 1 year with potential renewal.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field with 1 year of relevant work experience.
Excellent command of English writing; other UN languages are assets.
Experience in Drupal, CiviCRM and CRM/database tools.
Proficiency in MS Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
Graphic design experience with Adobe Creative Suite is an advantage.

Responsibilities

Assist in administration of UNU-WIDER websites, newsletters, and digital products.
Draft promotional copy for website and social media; contribute to knowledge translation outputs.
Help organize events and deliver communications assets.
Assist with tagging, metadata, and content quality across platforms.
Monitor media coverage and provide weekly updates.
