Job summary

Pentagon Technical Services in Finland is seeking two Commissioning Relay Engineers to join a major hyperscale data centre project. Start date 5 October 2026, on-site, long-term contract.

You will be responsible for MV/LV protection, relay testing, CTs/VTs, switchgear testing, and working with OMICRON equipment, with rotation on project and collaboration with client teams.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Commissioning Relay Engineer / Protection & Control Engineer
• Strong experience with MV/LV protection systems
• Hands-on experience with protection relay testing
• Experience with OMICRON CMC 356 / CPC 100, Megger or equivalent
• Experience testing CTs, VTs, circuit breakers and MV/LV switchgear
• Previous data centre, substation, utility or critical infrastructure experience preferred
• Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and protection schematics
• Strong understanding of protection principles, interlocks and trip circuits
• Good communication and reporting skills
• Relevant electrical/engineering qualifications

Responsibilities

• Commissioning and testing of MV/LV protection and control systems
• Testing and commissioning of protection relays and associated equipment
• Primary and secondary injection testing
• Protection relay configuration, testing and verification
• Functional testing of switchgear, circuit breakers, CTs and VTs
• Carrying out testing using equipment such as OMICRON CMC 356, CPC 100, Megger and similar
• Supporting electrical commissioning through L1–L5
• Reviewing commissioning documentation, test procedures and results
• Identifying and resolving technical issues during commissioning
• Working closely with commissioning managers, electrical engineers, contractors and client teams
• Ensuring all testing is completed safely and in accordance with project procedures

Commissioning Relay Engineer – Data Centre Project | Finland

We are currently looking for an experienced Commissioning Relay Engineer to join a major hyperscale data centre project in Finland, starting in October 2026.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced commissioning professional with a strong background in MV/LV protection, relay testing and critical power systems to work on a large-scale data centre project.

Key Responsibilities

• Commissioning and testing of MV/LV protection and control systems
• Testing and commissioning of protection relays and associated equipment
• Primary and secondary injection testing
