Overview

We are looking for a Civil Engineer to join our client CHEC team for the Kotka CAM Plant project.

China Harbour Engineering Company Ltd. (CHEC) is a world-renowned international contractor and a leading provider of comprehensive services across the entire industry chain for both public and private sectors. CHEC has been engaged as the main contractor for the CAM Plant project in Kotka, responsible for the implementation and construction of the plant. The position is project-based, with an expected duration of approximately one year, and the work is located in Keltakallio, Kotka.

Responsibilities

• Design management and coordination of municipal works (internal roads, site grading) and geotechnical aspects.
• Reviewing municipal (internal roads, site grading) and geotechnical (geotechnical investigation reports, foundation) drawings and basic design documents.
• Subgrade inspections and acceptance.
• On-site supervision of construction activities related to internal roads, site grading, earthworks, and foundation implementation; ensure adherence to design specifications, quality standards, and project schedule.

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in civil engineering, geotechnical engineering, or a related field.
• Relevant work experience in piping design and coordination for infrastructure or industrial projects and ability to read piping layouts, isometric drawings, and material specifications.
• Familiarity with underground utilities (e.g., fire water, drinking water, stormwater, wastewater, process pipelines).
• Experience in cross-discipline coordination with structural, process, and civil works.
• TEKLA software knowledge is highly advantageous.
• Good communication skills and strong coordination ability with design teams, contractors, and other stakeholders.
• Full professional proficiency in English.
