Job summary

AFRY is recruiting an experienced Chief Process Engineer for the Chemicals & Biorefining, Mining & Metals process engineering team. You will work in an international environment, leading process design in your area, with hybrid work options in the Helsinki metro area or Oulu.

Ideal candidates hold an MSc in Metallurgy with 10+ years in process design, and show leadership in cross-functional teams, coupled with strong English and willingness to travel.

Qualifications

• Master of Science degree in Metallurgy or similar education.
• Minimum 10 years of experience in process design.
• Experience with basic and detail engineering in mining/metals.
• Safety-critical mindset required.
• Excellent English; Finnish/Swedish an advantage.
• Strong leadership for cross-functional multinational teams.
• Willingness to travel.

We are recruiting an experienced professional for the role of Chief Process Engineer in the Chemicals & Biorefining, Mining & Metals process engineering team within the Industry Division. The team provides engineering and consulting services globally to industrial and start-up clients. The work is carried out in an international environment and involves close cooperation across disciplines and organizational boundaries.

Your primary place of work can be located in the Helsinki metropolitan area or Oulu. AFRY supports a hybrid working model.

As a chief process engineer you will:

• Be responsible for process engineering in your own design area
• Lead and coordinate process engineering in basic and detail engineering projects
• Develop your personal skills and take part in collaborative internal development projects
• Share your engineering and industry know-how with the team

Qualifications

Our ideal candidate has:
