Job summary

Helsingin kaupunki/ Malmi Health Center seeks a Chief Physician to lead daily operations and develop services in partnership with the Chief Physician and ward managers.

The center serves approx. 40,000 residents and offers opportunities to influence a large, multidisciplinary team of physicians, nurses, and allied professionals while ensuring high-quality care and accessibility in a busy urban setting.

Job description

We are seeking a Chief Physician at Malmi Health Center to lead and develop operations together with the other Chief Physician and two ward managers.

The center serves about 40,000 residents. In addition to Chief Physicians, there are 28 physicians in the medical staff, offering an excellent opportunity to influence a large, multidisciplinary work community, employee leadership, and the quality and accessibility of care.

The positions are well staffed at Malmi Health Center. As Chief Physician you will play a central role in leading daily operations, developing activities, and supporting staff as part of an experienced management team.

The supervisory responsibilities of physicians are shared between two Chief Physicians.

The health center teams include physicians, nurses, a physiotherapist, and mental health and substance abuse nurse.

You will work with your teams in close collaboration with social services, psychiatry, addiction services, and rehabilitation in a networked north Helsinki health and well-being center.

Cooperation with the other facilities at Koillislahti health centers (Jakomäen, Suutarilan and Puistolan health centers) is close and functional.

Eligibility

A legally licensed physician in Finland with the right to specialize in a relevant specialty and sufficient experience in administration and leadership tasks in the field.

Language requirement

Excellent Finnish and acceptable written and spoken Swedish.

The successful candidate must provide a health care worker assessment of their ability to perform the duties of the position.

The role requires vaccination protection under section 48 and tuberculosis assessment under section 55 of the Communicable Diseases Act.

Under the law on background checks for those working with children (504/2002), a person selected for the position who will work in school and student health services must provide an approved criminal record extract before assuming the post.

We value experience in development and supervision/training physician rights, as well as previous work at Helsinki City health centers.
