Job summary

UpCloud in Helsinki is seeking a data-focused BI specialist to build and refine dashboards across teams. You will translate questions into reporting, maintain consistent metrics, and improve user experience of dashboards.

Collaborating with data and business teams, you’ll explore data to answer questions, standardize KPI reporting, and gradually own BI tools and processes within the company.

• Work with stakeholders to understand their questions and turn them into useful reporting, metrics and analyses
• Improve existing dashboards and make reporting easier to understand
• Bring consistency to dashboard design, structure and user experience
• Help define and maintain common metrics across different parts of the business
• Identify overlapping or outdated dashboards and help simplify reporting
• Explore data to answer business questions and support decision-making
• Work closely with the data team and other teams across UpCloud
• Gradually take more ownership of BI tools and ways of working
• Develop the Data Studio environment, bring dashboards and metrics together, and shape how BI is used across the company

Requirements

• Previous hands-on experience with BI or data visualisation tools
• Genuine interest in building dashboards and making data easy to understand
• Analytical mindset and curiosity about how businesses work
• Clear and consistent visualisation and structure skills
• Basic understanding of data, metrics and dimensions
• Ability to work with people from different parts of the business and understand their data needs
• Interest in developing common KPI and reporting standards
• Experience exploring and analysing data beyond dashboard building
• Initiative, willingness and drive to learn
• Relevant studies or a degree in business, economics, information systems, data analytics or another applicable field, or equivalent practical work experience
• Previous experience with Google Data Studio / Looker Studio is useful but not required
• Experience with Power BI, Tableau, or another BI and visualisation tool provides an equally good foundation
• Basic SQL skills are nice to have
• Experience with Google Data Studio / Looker Studio is nice to have
• Experience with BigQuery or another cloud data warehouse is nice to have
• Preferably based in or around Helsinki and willing to spend most of the week at the Helsinki office
