Job summary

Mercor is seeking a bilingual Finnish STEM Expert (PhD) for AI Safety to work remotely as a contract expert. You will craft expert-level prompts in Finnish across specialized scientific areas and evaluate model outputs for accuracy, safety, and appropriate handling of dual-use information.

The role requires a PhD in chemistry, biology, or closely related field, native Finnish with business-level English, and the ability to work independently and asynchronously from Finland or Western Europe.

Compensation: $61–$65/hour

Qualifications

• Must-Have:
  • PhD in chemistry , biology , or a closely related field.
  • Native or near-native fluency in Finnish and business-level written English .

• Preferred:
  • Based in Finland or the wider Western Europe region.
  • Expertise in radiochemistry , nuclear chemistry , energetic materials , or radiation physics .
  • Demonstrated depth in a specific subfield such as organic or inorganic synthesis , molecular biology , microbiology , virology , or genetics .
  • Research or coursework in chemical safety and security , biosafety and biosecurity , or hazardous-materials handling .
  • Experience reviewing, grading, or red-teaming technical content.
