Job summary

Konecranes is seeking an Automation Software Engineer to strengthen automation engineering for crane modernization projects. You will join a team of electrical, mechanical and automation engineers in the Global Modernizations unit, supporting frontline units worldwide and documenting work in PLM systems.

The role involves hybrid work with 2 days per week at the Hyvinkää office, and travel 50–100 days annually.

Qualifications

• 3+ years PLC software development experience in IEC-61131 environments.
• Experience with Siemens Step 7, Tia Portal, and field bus systems.
• Strong communication, problem-solving and teamwork abilities.
• Willingness to travel 50–100 days per year.

Responsibilities

• Automation engineering for crane modernization projects using Siemens Step 7, Tia Portal and legacy tools.
• Provide engineering support for electrical and mechanical teams globally.
• Perform automation site commissioning in modernization projects.
• Document work in Konecranes PLM systems.
