As one of the fastest-growing companies in the industry, we’ve built a robust presence across Asia and Europe — and we’re just getting started. As we expand into new international markets, we’re looking for talented, driven individuals to join us on this exciting journey. This is more than a job — it’s an opportunity to be a key contributor to our dynamic team and help shape the future of global data infrastructure. If you're passionate about innovation, technology, and growth, we invite you to be part of DayOne’s next chapter.

About the Role

DayOne is building its flagship hyperscale data center campus in Lahti, on a former industrial site in Kiveriö. The campus is designed to use Finland's naturally cool climate for free cooling, with air-cooled chillers that remove the need for freshwater cooling. Join the Lahti team early and help shape how a campus of this scale is built, commissioned, and run.

As an Assistant Facilities Engineer you will support the Critical Services and Building Services teams responsible for the continuous and efficient operation of mechanical, electrical, fire, and building services systems, upholding high standards of safety and compliance. You will gain comprehensive exposure to the full range of data centre operations and maintenance management. This role serves as the entry point to a long-term career in the data centre industry.

Your key responsibilities will include
  • Critical System Management
    • Overseeing the installation, operation, and maintenance of all MEP (mechanical, electrical and plumbing) systems within the data centres.
    • Ensuring all MEP infrastructure, including mechanical, electrical, and fire suppression systems, and security systems operate reliably and efficiently.
    • Implementing and maintaining safety policies, procedures, and best practices.
  • Team collaboration
    • Coordinating with shift teams to ensure seamless 24/ 7 coverage and effective handovers between shifts.
    • Developing processing plans and optimizing resource allocation.
  • Maintenance and Upgrades
    • Planning and overseeing preventative and corrective maintenance activities, ensuring all equipment and systems are serviced according to manufacturer and company standards.
    • Coordinating with vendors and contractors for maintenance and upgrade projects, ensuring minimal impact on operations.
    • Implementing preventive maintenance actions to minimize downtime.
    • Diagnosing and resolving issues promptly.
  • Safety and Compliance
    • Ensuring all equipment operations comply with relevant building codes, and environmental, health & safety regulations.
    • Maintaining up-to-date documentation and records to support compliance audits and certifications.
  • Technical Support
    • Evaluating operational systems and facility infrastructure to ascertain and improve operational efficiencies.
    • Gathering and analysing data and reports.
