Job summary

AFRY seeks an Advisor/Senior Advisor to join its Advanced Automation team, delivering innovative solutions in energy, industry and digitalization. You will work across locations, applying Balance+ control concepts and driving automation excellence in a global, multicultural context.

The role offers a hybrid working model with opportunities in Finland (Vantaa/Tampere) or Sweden (Stockholm/Malmö), and a strong focus on learning and collaboration with top experts in dynamic projects.

Qualifications

• Master or Bachelor of Science technology degree.
• 5+ years in energy and/or process industry with strong automation knowledge.
• Experience with APC and AI in energy/industrial process control.
• Understanding of power boilers and heat production; main automation strength.
• Global context experience with multicultural teams across time zones.
• Fluency in English; other languages advantageous.

Advanced Automation team consists of good combination of senior and younger talents. We provide world leading process control technology solutions, products, project management and services for the energy and process industry. Continuous improvement of our solutions and services is in a key role in our business. We work globally in interesting locations, which makes our business and projects exciting.

This role can be based in either Finland or Sweden. Depending on your preferred location, you can be based in Vantaa or Tampere in Finland, or Stockholm or Malmö in Sweden. AFRY supports a hybrid working model.

We are looking for a person who has experience from different phases of industrial automation and advanced process control projects and is eager to learn a new approach of controlling power and heat production, district heating systems and other industrial processes, using AFRY's Balance+ control philosophy.

To succeed in this role, you have:

• Master or Bachelor of Science technology degree.
• More than 5 years of experience in working in the energy and/or process industry, with a strong understanding of automation and control systems.
• Experience with new technologies in energy or industrial process control and data management such as APC and artificial intelligence.
• Understanding of power boilers, power and heat production, and industrial processes, even though your main competence is in automation.
• Track record of technical development.
• Work experience in a global context with multicultural teams across different time zones and experience in working with various partners in the field of industrial automation.
• Fluency in English, proficiency in other languages is an advantage.

Considered a benefit:

• Application engineering experience from a major DCS system and knowhow of field instrument engineering is a benefit.
• Experience from advanced automation, process control or application engineering in pulp mill recovery processes and applications is considered a strong advantage.
