K-LAGAN is seeking a Water Engineer to develop and define industrial water and wastewater treatment schemes for metals and minerals projects across Madrid, Barcelona, or Bilbao, Spain.

The role focuses on conceptual design, system configuration, and integration with overall plant design, requiring 4+ years of relevant experience and fluency in Spanish. You’ll work with multidisciplinary teams and may contribute to technical studies and documentation.

Formación

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil, Environmental, Chemical, Industrial, Hydraulic or related Engineering.
• Minimum 4 years of professional experience in industrial water and/or wastewater treatment projects.
• Experience in design and definition of water treatment processes and systems in industrial environments.
• Knowledge of different water and wastewater treatment technologies and processes.
• Experience developing treatment schemes based on water quality requirements and industrial process needs.
• Ability to work with PFDs, process descriptions, mass balances and water balances.
• Experience in metals & minerals, mining, steel, energy, chemical or other heavy industrial projects valued.
• Spanish: native or fluent.

Responsabilidades

• Define and develop water and wastewater treatment schemes for industrial facilities according to process requirements and required water quality.
• Analyse raw water and wastewater characteristics and determine the most appropriate treatment processes and technologies.
• Develop conceptual and basic engineering designs for industrial water treatment and wastewater treatment plants (WTP/ETAP and WWTP/EDAR).
• Define treatment stages and process configurations, including physical, chemical and/or biological treatment where applicable.
• Prepare and review process flow diagrams (PFDs), process descriptions, mass balances and water balances.
• Establish process criteria and technical specifications for the main treatment systems and equipment.
• Support the sizing and definition of treatment systems, pumping and storage requirements from a process engineering perspective.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams to integrate water treatment systems into the overall industrial plant design.
• Participate in technical studies, technology selection, supplier evaluations and preparation of technical documentation.
• Ensure that proposed solutions comply with applicable technical, environmental and safety requirements.

About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Water Engineer to join our team and contribute to industrial projects in the metals and minerals sector.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the conceptual and process design of industrial water and wastewater treatment systems, defining the most appropriate treatment scheme according to the required water quality, process needs, and specific characteristics of each industrial plant.

This role focuses on the overall treatment process and system configuration, rather than on the detailed design of individual treatment equipment.

Requirements

• Experience in the design and definition of water treatment processes and systems, preferably within industrial environments.
• Knowledge of different water and wastewater treatment technologies and processes.
• Experience developing treatment schemes based on water quality requirements and industrial process needs.
• Ability to work with PFDs, process descriptions, mass balances and water balances.
• Experience in metals & minerals, mining, steel, energy, chemical or other heavy industrial projects will be highly valued.
• Good analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to develop technically sound and practical solutions.
• Spanish: native or fluent.
