Whitewater Group is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer in Madrid with a hybrid work model. You will design electrical, instrumentation, and control systems, coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, and produce high-quality engineering documentation across project phases from concept to commissioning.

The role requires experience with FEED, industrial projects, and strong knowledge of IEC/UL/IEEE standards, plus CAD tools like AutoCAD Electrical and EPLAN P8. English at B2 level is essential.

• Several years of electrical engineering experience in industrial projects (Oil & Gas, energy, data centres, water).
• Knowledge of IEC, UL, NFPA, IEEE standards.
• Experience in FEED and detailed engineering.

• Experience with instrumentation connections and control valves.

About The Role

As Whitewater Group continues to expand internationally across multiple markets, we are seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to support the design and delivery of complex electrical and instrumentation systems across multiple projects. This position will be based in our Madrid office, with a hybrid working model .

This role will play a key part in the development, coordination, and technical delivery of electrical engineering solutions, ensuring compliance with industry standards, project specifications, and quality requirements throughout the design and implementation phases. Working closely with multidisciplinary engineering teams, project managers, vendors, and site personnel, the successful candidate will contribute to the design of electrical, instrumentation, and control systems while supporting the efficient execution of projects from concept through to commissioning.

The ideal candidate will be a proactive and detail-oriented Senior Electrical Engineer with strong technical knowledge of electrical design, instrumentation, and control systems. They will have experience producing high-quality engineering documentation, coordinating with multiple stakeholders, and ensuring technical accuracy across project deliverables. A collaborative mindset, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, multidisciplinary environment will be key to successfully supporting the delivery of innovative and high-performance infrastructure projects.

Main Duties And Responsibilities

• Verify that the technical documentation complies with the applicable quality standards and regulations.
• Review and implement KKS and ISA regulations.
• Develop I/O lists and cable schedules, as well as control panel technical specifications.
• Tabulate and evaluate technical offers for instrumentation and control systems.
• Develop electrical deliverables: wiring diagrams, cable lists, routing layouts, BOMs, SLDs, and electrical panel schematics using EPLAN.
• Participate in the design of control systems, including PLCs, distributed systems, emergency shutdown systems, and monitoring of rotating equipment.

Your profile

• Degree in Electrical or Industrial Engineering or Higher Degree Training Cycle.
• Several years of experience in electrical engineering within industrial projects, especially in sectors such as Oil & Gas (Upstream/Downstream), energy, data centres, or water treatment.
• Knowledge of applicable international standards (IEC, UL, NFPA, IEEE).
• Experience in FEED phases and detailed engineering.
• Minimum level of English B2 (essential for technical documentation and international environments).
• Proficiency with CAD tools such as AutoCAD Electrical and EPLAN P8.
• Experience with documentation for instrumentation equipment connections, including control valves, On-Off valves, self-regulating valves, level, differential pressure, radar, magnetic, flow, temperature, and pressure instrumentation.
