Applus+ IDIADA is seeking an experienced Vehicle Dynamics Engineer to drive advanced simulations for chassis and vehicle development. You will build chassis models, run virtual evaluations, and optimize parameters to meet performance targets while delivering clear reports and customer presentations.

The role requires 5+ years in automotive dynamics, strong Matlab/Python skills, and proficiency with ADAMS, CarMaker, CarSim or VI-CarRealTime. A hybrid work model supports work-life balance.

Formación

• B.S. or higher in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• 5+ years of automotive chassis development with focus on Vehicle Dynamics.
• Knowledge of vehicle dynamics theory and contributions from components to suspension K&C and full-vehicle performance.
• Strong understanding of the performance development process, from target setting to validation and sign-off.
• Vehicle dynamics simulation experience with multi-body (ADAMS) and/or lookup tables-based models (VI-CarRealTime, IPG CarMaker, CarSim).
• Data post-processing skills.
• Strong knowledge of programming with Matlab and/or Python.

Job Description

Role summary

Responsible for carrying out vehicle dynamics advanced simulation activities to support attributes development programs.

Responsibilities

Perform complete vehicle and suspension simulations to provide direction to the chassis development programs, while minimizing the need for physical testing.

The main responsibilities of this role will be:

• Build chassis and complete vehicle models
• Perform virtual simulations to evaluate suspension kinematics & compliance and complete vehicle handling & ride comfort.
• Optimize chassis parameters in order to meet performance targets
• Prepare/write project reports
• Presentation of project results and support decision making

To support project management and commercial actions:

• Presentation of project proposals and project results to customers
• Management of client communication and reporting

Qualifications

Technical qualifications

• B.S. or higher in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• More than 5 years of experience in automotive chassis development with a focus on Vehicle Dynamics.
• Knowledge of vehicle dynamics theory and contributions from individual components- hardpoints, steering, springs, bars, dampers, tires, bushings, etc- to suspension K&C and full-vehicle performance.
• Strong understanding of the performance development process, from target setting and target cascading to validation and sign-off.
• Vehicle dynamics simulation experience with multi-body (ADAMS) and/or lookup tables-based models (VI-CarRealTime, IPG CarMaker, CarSim, etc)
• Data post-processing skills.
• Strong knowledge of programming with Matlab and/or Python.
