Allianz Commercial seeks an experienced Senior Underwriter Cyber for the Iberia region. You will underwrite profitable Cyber accounts, negotiate with brokers, and manage key client relationships, reporting to the Regional Head of Financial Lines Iberia.

The role blends risk insight with market relationships in Spain and Portugal. This position offers a hybrid work model with a base salary range and a performance-based bonus, plus benefits.

Formación

• Experience underwriting profitable Cyber business in the Iberia region.
• Degree in Law, Business Administration, Economics, or equivalent.
• Established broker relationships in Iberia Cyber market.
• Fluent in Spanish and English (Portuguese or other Iberian languages a plus).

We are looking for an Underwriter Cyber to join our team in Iberia.

Your Team

You will be part of the Allianz Commercial Spain team — a dynamic, ambitious group dedicated to delivering outstanding insurance solutions across the Iberia region. Combining the strength of Allianz’s global network with deep local market knowledge, the team is well-positioned to address the complex and evolving needs of businesses across Spain and Portugal. You will work closely with colleagues in Financial Lines, Market Management, and Distribution, as well as with brokers and clients who rely on Allianz Commercial as their trusted partner.

Reporting to the Regional Head of Financial Lines Iberia, you will play a key role in shaping the Cyber underwriting portfolio in the region — bringing your market knowledge, technical skills, and client relationships to a role where your contribution will be visible and valued every day.

The Impact You Will Have

As Senior Underwriter Cyber for the Iberia region, you will be at the forefront of one of the most dynamic and fast-growing lines of business in the insurance market. You will underwrite profitable new and renewal business to meet Cyber targets, negotiate terms and conditions with brokers, and take ownership of key client relationships. Your technical expertise, market insight, and ability to build strong partnerships will directly support the growth and profitability of the Cyber portfolio across Iberia — while contributing to Allianz Commercial’s position as a leading Cyber insurer in the market.

Responsibilities

• You will underwrite new and renewal Cyber accounts to meet top and bottom line targets, in accordance with underwriting guidelines and your delegated underwriting authority.
• You will negotiate participation, pricing, and terms and conditions with brokers, ensuring competitive and profitable outcomes for the Cyber portfolio.
• You will proactively manage exposure and capacity across the Cyber book, identifying and addressing concentration risks and emerging trends.
• You will support the acquisition of new business and the retention of existing clients, working in close coordination with the Distribution and Client Relationship teams.
• You will liaise proactively with Market Management and Distribution on market management initiatives, contributing to the development of the Cyber product offering in Iberia.
• You will develop and maintain strong relationships with key brokers, clients, and other relevant stakeholders, representing Allianz Commercial positively and professionally in the market.
• You will assess Cyber risk exposures, including digital dependencies, security controls, incident history, threat trends, and potential systemic risk, applying sound technical judgement to pricing and risk selection decisions.
• You will contribute to the design, development, and implementation of consistent and robust policy wordings, supporting the quality and integrity of the Cyber product.

What You’ll Bring

• You have strong experience in underwriting profitable Cyber business in the Iberia region, with a proven ability to manage or contribute to a Cyber portfolio.
• You ideally have a degree in Law, Business Administration, Economics, or another relevant discipline; equivalent professional experience is also considered.
• You bring established broker relationships and a good understanding of the Iberia Cyber insurance market.
• You have a strong understanding of regional and local Cyber insurance markets and the competitor landscape, including global market dynamics.
• You have excellent analytical skills, with the ability to assess risk exposures, analyse performance against benchmarks, and apply sound underwriting judgement.
• You have excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to build relationships and communicate clearly at all levels and with a wide range of stakeholders.
• You demonstrate the ability to influence and motivate others without executive authority, driving outcomes through expertise, credibility, and collaboration.
• You are comfortable using data insights, digital tools, and emerging technologies, including AI-enabled solutions, to support decision‑making, improve efficiency, and contribute to broader organisational goals.
• You have fluent Spanish and English language skills; proficiency in Portuguese or other Iberian languages is a strong advantage.
• Experience in applying artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML) to improve business processes and decision‑making is highly beneficial.

Important Information About This Opportunity

As part of Allianz Commercial's strategic partnership with Coalition, one of the leading cyber insurance and security providers, this role is expected to become part of Coalition's operating model in the future. While the timing of the transition is still being finalized, candidates should be aware that employment in this cyber role will transfer from Allianz Commercial to Coalition at a later stage.

Once transferred,the role will continue to focus on supporting cyber insurance business associated with Allianz Commercial's clients and distribution network. This creates a unique opportunity to gain exposure to the capabilities, technology, and expertise of two leading organizations in the cyber insurance market.

Representatives from both Allianz & Coalition will participate in the recruitment process.

Role

For Spain, the base salary range for this position is between € 51 000 and € 68 000 (for a full-time role). The specific salary offered considers:

• the requirements, scope, complexity and responsibilities of the role,
• the applicant's own profile including education/qualifications, expertise, specialization, skills and experience.

The annualized represents a market range and will also be determined by the location of the role. In the situation where you do not meet all the job requirements or you significantly exceed these, the offered salary may be below or above the advertised range. In addition to your base salary, we offer an attractive performance-based variable component based on location specific regulations, and you may be eligible for additional benefits.
