Airbus Defence and Space SAU in Getafe (Madrid) seeks a Type Certification Engineer to join the Derivatives Programmes Certification and Airworthiness team. The role covers building certification bases, coordinating with authorities, and ensuring compliance across complex derivative systems.

The ideal candidate has an aeronautical engineering background, aviation regulatory experience, and advanced English. Hybrid working is possible with a strong emphasis on collaboration and development.

Formación

• Aeronautical Engineering degree or related discipline.
• Professional experience in aviation engineering, aircraft systems, or regulatory compliance valued.
• Advanced English language proficiency.
• Familiarity with airworthiness regulations, EASA/military certification processes, and DOA procedures.
• Strong adaptability, communication, and networking skills.

Responsabilidades

• Define the certification basis and draft air system certification plans.
• Coordinate with technical organisations and Airworthiness Authorities to verify compliance and present means of compliance.
• Evaluate design modifications, classify changes to type certificates, and approve flight test clearances under DOA privileges.
• Manage airworthiness documentation for aircraft deliveries, including concessions and operator changes.
• Lead continued airworthiness monitoring, manage occurrence reports and coordinate with authorities on Airworthiness Directives.
• Approve Service Bulletins from an airworthiness perspective and participate in Product Safety Committees.

Job Description

An opportunity for a Type Certification Engineer has arisen within Airbus Defence and Space in Getafe (Madrid). The selected candidate will join the Airbus Derivatives Programmes Certification and Airworthiness team. This multidisciplinary and international team is responsible for defining and implementing complex system certifications for derivative programmes, ensuring compliance with strict global military and civil airworthiness standards. This is a key challenge to support our products from the initial design phase through their entire lifecycle.

Responsibilities

• Define the applicable certification basis and draft comprehensive air system certification plans.
• Coordinate with technical organisations and Airworthiness Authorities to verify compliance and present means of compliance documentation.
• Evaluate design modifications, classify changes to type certificates, and approve flight test clearances under DOA privileges.
• Manage the individual airworthiness documentation for aircraft deliveries, including concessions and operator changes.
• Lead continued airworthiness monitoring, manage occurrence reports and coordinate with authorities on Airworthiness Directives.
• Approve Service Bulletins from an airworthiness perspective and participate actively in Product Safety Committees.

Skills

• Education: Aeronautical Engineering degree or a related discipline.

• Languages: Advanced level in English.
• Technical knowledge: Familiarity with airworthiness regulations, EASA/military certification processes, and DOA procedures.
