Worley Consulting is seeking a motivated Transport & Logistics Modeller to join the Land Transport & Logistics Service Line in Madrid, supporting a wide range of planning and modelling assignments across the EMEA region.

You will develop transport and logistics models, analyse outputs, and contribute to technical reports and client deliverables while collaborating with senior team members. The role may focus on modelling or simulations with exposure to both disciplines.

Formación

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Transport Planning, Industrial Engineering, Operations Research, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Mathematics, Physics, or related field. Master’s preferred.
• 3+ years of relevant experience in transport modelling, transport planning, logistics simulation, or related analytical discipline.
• Experience in transport modelling and planning tools (VISUM, VISSIM, VISWALK, AIMSUN, EMME, SATURN, CUBE or similar).
• Experience in logistics and simulation modelling tools (AnyLogic, Witness, FlexSim, Simio, Arena or similar).
• Strong quantitative and analytical skills with ability to interpret datasets.
• Proven ability to prepare clear, client-ready outputs and presentations using Excel/PowerPoint.

Responsabilidades

• Develop and apply transport and logistics models including microsimulation and strategic models.
• Support mobility, transport planning, logistics, and supply chain optimization studies.
• Develop demand forecasts and operational scenarios for people and freight movements.
• Analyse model outputs and KPIs to support decision-making.
• Support development of transport modelling using tools like PTV package and related software.
• Support logistics simulations using AnyLogic and other software.
• Contribute to analyses supporting Traffic Impact Studies, T&R estimation, and logistics assessments.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver integrated outputs.
• Prepare technical reports, client deliverables and presentations of results.
• Participate in project meetings and coordinate modelling activities.
• Contribute to proposal inputs (scope, methodology, assumptions, work plans).
• Note: this is a consulting/advisory role, not a design role.

Job Overview

We are seeking a motivated and capable Transport & Logistics Modeller to join our Land Transport & Logistics Service Line. The successful candidate will support a wide range of transport planning, logistics and modelling assignments across the EMEA region.

As a Transport & Logistics Modeller, you will contribute to the development and application of transport models at different levels of detail, being these traffic microsimulation and strategic transport models, and/or logistics and operational simulations. You will support project delivery through data analysis, model development, scenario testing, technical reporting, and client-facing deliverables, working closely with senior team members.

Depending on the candidate’s experience and interests, the role may have a stronger focus on either transport modelling or logistics simulation, while maintaining exposure to both disciplines as part of an integrated consulting team.

Responsibilities

• Develop and apply transport and logistics models, including microsimulation, strategic transport models, demand models, operational simulations, and discrete-event simulations.
• Support mobility, transport planning, logistics, and supply chain optimization studies.
• Develop demand forecasts and operational scenarios for people and freight movements.
• Analyse model outputs and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to support infrastructure, mobility, logistics, and operational decision‑making.
• Support the development of transport modelling using tools such as PTV package and other relevant software.
• Support the development of logistics simulations using tools such as AnyLogic and other relevant software.
• Contribute to technical analyses supporting Traffic Impact Studies, Traffic & Revenue (T&R) estimation, logistics assessments, and broader transport & logistics advisory assignments.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams (e.g., Transport Planning, Logistics, Ports & Marine, Master Planning, and Materials Handling) to deliver integrated consulting outputs.
• Support the preparation of technical reports, client deliverables, and presentations, ensuring clear and structured communication of modelling results.
• Participate in project meetings and support project managers in coordinating modelling activities.
• Contribute to proposal and bid development by preparing technical inputs (scope, methodology, assumptions, work plans, and clarifications) under the guidance of senior team members.
• Please note that this is not a design role. The position is focused on consulting/advisory activities, as outlined above.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Transport Planning, Industrial Engineering, Operations Research, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Mathematics, Physics, or a related discipline. Master’s degree is preferred.
• 3+ years of relevant experience in transport modelling, transport planning, logistics simulation, supply chain analysis, operational modelling, or related analytical disciplines.
• Demonstrated experience in at least one of the following areas:
• Transport modelling and planning (VISUM, VISSIM, VISWALK, AIMSUN, EMME, SATURN, CUBE or similar).
• Logistics and simulation modelling (AnyLogic, Witness, FlexSim, Simio, Arena or similar).
• Knowledge of both transport and logistics modelling would be considered an advantage.
• Experience in data analysis, scenario modelling, and interpretation of model outputs.
• Strong quantitative and analytical skills, with the ability to interpret model outputs and datasets, combined with strong organizational and problem‑solving skills.
• Proven ability to prepare clear, structured, client‑ready written outputs and presentations, supported by solid Excel and PowerPoint skills.
• Ability to operate effectively in a consulting environment, both independently and collaboratively with senior advisors and multidisciplinary teams.
• Proficient written and spoken English is required. Spanish language skills are required for candidates based in Spain or Colombia. For candidates based in other locations, Spanish proficiency would be considered an advantage. Additional language skills are an advantage.
• Preferred location: Spain, KSA; UAE (EMEA). Candidates based in Colombia and India (Consulting Delivery Centre – CDC locations) will also be considered.
