Airbus Defence and Space SAU is seeking a highly experienced Test Pilot for Combat Aircraft based in Getafe (Madrid). You will join the Flight Test Department, contributing to flight test activities across programmes and supporting development, certification, qualification, validation, verification and acceptance of aircraft and systems.

Formación

• Engineering degree or master’s degree valued.
• 2,500+ flight hours, incl 1,500+ in combat aircraft.
• 5+ years in Test Pilot roles (DT, Certification & Q, V&V).
• 5+ years in Flight Test Operations management.
• EF-2000 Typhoon qualification and AAR experience.
• Advanced English and native Spanish.
• NATO SECRET clearance and Spanish clearance for SIRTAP/FCAS.

Responsabilidades

• Plan, execute and report test flights, supporting development, certification, validation & V&V and acceptance of Flight Operations.
• Perform Test Pilot activities at the Airbus Test Centre and support other internal organisations, including activities at Airbus and customer facilities worldwide.
• Participate in test, production, delivery and training activities for EF-2000 Typhoon and A400M, including in-flight and simulators as applicable.
• Support design and development of aircraft and systems, including FCAS and UAV programmes as required.
• Support operational and commercial activities, contributing Test Pilot expertise to programme and customer needs.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and external partners to ensure flight test success.

Job Description: Introduction: An opportunity for a Test Pilot - Combat Aircraft has arisen within Airbus Defence and Space in Getafe (Madrid). Brief description of the department´s mission: The selected candidate will join the Flight Test Department, contributing to flight test activities across Airbus Defence and Space programmes and supporting the development, certification, qualification, validation, verification and acceptance of aircraft and systems. The role involves working closely with multidisciplinary teams, Chief Engineer Office, Programmes and other internal organisations, as well as performing Test Pilot activities at Airbus and customer facilities worldwide.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Plan, execute and report test flights, supporting the development, certification, qualification, validation & V & V and acceptance of Flight Operations.
• Perform Test Pilot activities at the Airbus Test Centre and support other internal organisations, including activities at Airbus and customer facilities worldwide.
• Participate in test, production, delivery and training activities for the EF-2000 Typhoon, including in-flight and simulator activities as applicable.
• Participate in test, production, delivery and training activities for the A400M, Military Air Systems and Airbus Defence and Space derivative aircraft (A310, A330, A320, etc.), both in-flight and in simulators as applicable.
• Support the Chief Engineer Office and Programmes in the design and development of aircraft and systems, including support to FCAS and UAV programmes as required.
• Support operational and commercial activities as required, contributing Test Pilot expertise to programme, customer and business needs.

SKILLS

• Education: Engineering degree or Master’s degree will be valued.
• Flight experience: More than 2,500 flight hours, including at least 1,500 flight hours in combat aircraft.
• Flight Test experience: At least 5 years of experience as a Test Pilot in Development Test (DT), Certification & Q, and Validation & V & V activities.
• Flight Test Operations: At least 5 years of experience in Flight Test Operations management.
• Aircraft qualification and operational experience: Previous or current EF-2000 Typhoon qualification and Air-to-Air Refuelling (AAR) experience as tanker and/or receiver.
• Licences and ratings: Valid EASA CAT 1 or CAT 2 Test Pilot rating (USAF TPS and USNTPS qualifications are also accepted), EASA CPL/ATPL(A), ME, IR and UPRT ratings, and a valid EASA Class 1 Medical Certificate. MCC qualification will also be valued.
• Languages: Advanced level of English (ICAO Level 5 or above) and native-level Spanish.
• Security clearance: NATO SECRET Security Clearance and Spanish National Security Clearance for SIRTAP & FCAS.
• Valuable / Nice to have: Flight Test Instructor (FTI) qualification and experience, any valid Airbus Type Rating (TR), UAV qualification and/or experience, and an Engineering degree or Master’s degree.
