Fundación IMDEA Materials in Spain is seeking a First Stage Researcher (R1) to provide technical support for laboratory research activities. The role includes operation, maintenance, and setup of laboratory equipment, as well as sample preparation and microstructural observation.
Candidates must hold a Bachelor's degree in Engineering and have a high level of English; applicants aged 16–29 with no prior employment with IMDEA will be considered under the STEP program.

The tasks of the position will be oriented toward technical support for the research activities carried out in the laboratory.
The selected person will provide support in the operation, maintenance, and setup of laboratory equipment, as well as in sample preparation and observation for microstructural analysis, including cutting, polishing, chemical etching, and microscopy. In addition, they will contribute to the overall proper functioning of the laboratory by carrying out support tasks related to good laboratory practices, health and safety in the workplace, stock control, and waste management.
