Dematic is seeking a System Integration Engineer to act as the Voice of Engineering, ensuring designs meet customer requirements and that the integrated solution performs from pre-sales through hand‑over to Customer Service.

This remotely based role will spend the majority of time on customer sites nationwide, driving user and solution acceptance testing to improve first-time acceptance of our automation technology.

Formación

  • Master’s degree in Industrial plant, Mechatronic or Mathematics.
  • At least 4 years of development or technical management experience in automated logistics.
  • Experience as a Software engineer in warehouse management systems is beneficial.
  • 4+ years’ engineering experience in the material handling industry preferred.
  • Ability to be customer-facing and communicate effectively with customers.

Responsabilidades

  • Provide the 'voice of Engineering' to optimise automation solutions pre-sale and review acceptance testing language.
  • Support the Simulation team with technical advice and review simulation outputs and reports.
  • Generate System Specifications for customer approval and understanding.
  • Define and lead the integration strategy during all project phases from Solutions through Execution.
  • Ensure alignment of specifications, test plans, and deliverables with contractual requirements.
  • Lead site-wide system testing with comprehensive documentation of strategy, plans, simulations, and results.
  • Produce system availability weightings and oversee FEM availability calculations.

System Integration Engineer play a vital role in the success of our projects and are the all-important “Voice of Engineering” that ensures the solutions we deliver are delivered to specification with the customer’s requirements at the forefront of everyone's minds.

The SIM’s role is to ensure design integrity across the project and provide proactive technical risk management ensuring that the integrated solution meets requirements for functionality and throughput as defined in the contract and measured by acceptance testing, starting in the Sales phase, and concluding at hand-over to Customer Service.

This remotely based position will spend the majority of the time on various customer sites around the country and drive both user and solutions acceptance testing to increase the right-first-time acceptance of our technology in the wider automated materials handling solution.

Key Responsibilities:

  • The SIM provides the "voice of Engineering" to the Solutions Development team to optimise automation solutions pre-sale, reviewing and providing input on the solution and acceptance testing language

  • Supporting the Simulation team by providing technical advice, reviewing, and approving simulation output and reports in alignment with SD and Sales; anticipating the impact of any deviations from established parameters; providing early awareness to the customer of their responsibilities that influence system performance

  • Generate System Specifications for customer approval and understanding of the system

  • Defining and leading the integration strategy during all phases of the project, from Solutions through Execution

  • Ensuring that the System Specification, Software Functional Specification, acceptance test plan, and mechanical and controls deliverables are aligned to contractual requirements, interfaces and nomenclature is consistent, and that the system will meet expected throughput

  • In collaboration with Test Manager, leading completion of site-wide system testing, including comprehensive documentation of test strategy, test plan (for internal and customer-witnessed tests), simulation and emulation tests, detailed testing specifications, and results

  • Producing system availability weightings; overseeing calculation of the appropriate FEM availability method

Tasks and Qualifications:

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Master’s degree in Industrial plant or Mechatronic or Mathematics.

  • At least 4 years of experience in development or technical management field (possibly in high–level automated logistic business).

  • It would be beneficial to have previous experience as a Software engineer in warehouse management systems, but this is not an essential requirement.

  • 4+ years’ experience in engineering with demonstrated experience in the material handling industry preferred.

  • Functional leadership and communications oriented.

  • Demonstrated ability to create technical documentation.

  • Ability to be customer-facing, good with customer interaction.

  • Collaborative and effective team player and able to work with teams who are regionally located.

  • Availability to travel especially on domestic destinations for 50%/60% of the time.

  • Full driver’s license to support the travel requirements of the role.
