T-Systems Iberia in Madrid is seeking a System Engineer for the DNS Platform within the Telco Hub. You will join the DNS Squad responsible for resolving DNS services across mobile, fixed networks and IoT, and work in cross-country squads to design, deploy, monitor, and optimize core infrastructure.

The role emphasizes Kubernetes-based environments, automation via Ansible and Python, and close collaboration with DevOps and German operations to drive resilience and performance.

Formación

  • Fundamental DNS knowledge; TelCo experience preferred.
  • Extensive experience in Kubernetes orchestration of CNFs.
  • Proficiency in Kubernetes configurations and tuning.
  • Experience with IP networks, routers, LAN/WAN, and tracing tools like Wireshark.
  • Hands-on monitoring and data analytics (Prometheus, Medusa).

Responsabilidades

  • Implement and operate physical, virtualized and containerized system environments; focus on integrating a new IoT resolving Plattform in Kubernetes.
  • Analysis, troubleshooting and documentation of system malfunctions; regular checks and refinement of automated processes and strategies such as failover, deployment and disaster recovery to ensure a highly available and resilient system with minimum recovery time.
  • Identification, documentation and structuring of new test use cases; Development and optimization of scripts (Ansible, Bash, Perl, Python).
  • Implementing changes in test, reference and productive systems to enhance system stability and/or provide new features.
  • Development of new methods and tools for data analysis and monitoring; Cooperate with cross-functional teams to ensure end-to-end system functionality.
  • Collaborate closely with the german operations team to streamline processes, enhance software, tools and system performance and apply innovative technologies and concepts

The DNS Squad (consisting of 12 team members) holds the end-to-end responsibility for the resolving and authoritative DNS systems for Deutsche Telekom AG. These platforms are part of the critical infrastructure and are central core components of our german network. We are looking for a System Engineer to join our team for the resolving DNS platforms. These plattforms are resolving DNS Requests for mobile & fixed networks but also for IoT. The Team is responsible for the entire lifecycle and further development. You will be working closely with our supplier and devops engineers to design, integrate, deploy, monitor and troubleshoot our resolving DNS plattforms.

Activity Description

Qualifications
Must-have requirements
  • Fundamental knowledge of DNS (PowerDNS, DoH/DoT/DoQ) --> preferably you have worked in a TelCo company
  • Extensive know-how in working with Kubernetes to orchestrate CNFs
  • Proficiency in using as well as adapting configurations for K8s is a must
  • Experience with IP networks, router and LAN/WAN technologies as well as troubleshooting them with tracing tools (e.g. wireshark)
  • Hands‑on experience of monitoring systems and data analytics (Prometheus, Medusa, …)
Nice-to-have Requirements
  • Very good analytical skills combined with strong quality awareness
  • Experience in classic and agile forms of cooperation
Considerations

Being oncall for round about 8 Weeks per year and rarely perform tasks outside of regular working hours
