Vall d’Hebron Institute of Research (VHIR) invites applications for a Study Coordinator to support the Shock, Organ Dysfunction and Resuscitation Research Group in Barcelona. You will coordinate patient recruitment for clinical trials, manage data collection, and assist with sample handling and medication procedures, collaborating with the pharmacy service and the multidisciplinary team.

VHIR is seeking a Study Coordinator to join the Shock, Organ Dysfunction and Resuscitation Research Group. The Shock, Organ Dysfunction and Resuscitation Group is an integral and innovative research in the areas of shock, acute respiratory failure, acute renal failure, organ dysfunction, resuscitation and monitoring the patient in critical condition. In addition, the research group is particularly interested in applying artificial intelligence as a tool to achieve innovative solutions to critical ill patients.

Main responsibilities and duties:
  • Coordinate and promote patient recruitment for clinical trials.
  • Management of data collection, completion of CRD.
  • Obtaining, processing, storage and shipment of biological samples, according to the Standards of Good Laboratory Pratice.
  • Management of the medication that is provided, in accordance with the procedures agreed with the Pharmacy Service.
  • Assist the research team in the tasks necessary for the development of the study.
Education and qualifications:
Required:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Sciences (Biotechnology, Biology, Biochemist, Pharmacy, Nurse, or other science bachelor degree).
  • Good communication skills and professional fluency in English (written and spoken).
  • Good computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office and email.
Desirable:
  • Training in good clinical practice and clinical trials methodology is desired
  • Knowledge on SPSS and other data base are desire
  • Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment.
Experience and knowledge:
Required:
  • Experience working in an Intensive Care Unit
  • Experience in the management and dynamics of clinical trials
  • Knowledge and experience in the handling, processing, storage and shipment of biological samples
  • Communication skills and ability to work in multidisciplinary team
  • Organised and methodical person with high motivation and initiative.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
Desirable:
  • Experienced with SAP management programme
  • Management of databases
Labour conditions:
  • Working hours: Full-time (37,5 hours per week).
  • Starting date: As soon as possible.
  • Gross annual salary: Remuneration will be determined by experience, skills and responsibilities and aligned with the Collective Agreement pay scale.
  • Contract type: Technical and scientific activities contract linked to project activities
