Airbus Defence and Space SAU in Getafe (Madrid) seeks a Structural Design Engineer to join the Aerostructures Design team. You will work on major airframe components, applying composite technologies and 3D modeling (3DExperience) in an AGILE environment.

The role focuses on designing, validating, and documenting structural architectures, with collaboration across Manufacturing, Stress, Materials and Services teams to solve production issues and support certification processes.

Formación

• Aeronautical or Industrial Engineering degree.
• 7+ years of professional experience in aircraft structural design.
• Deep understanding of composite structures; proficient in CATIA, PDM/PLM, and configuration management.
• Languages: negotiation level in English and Spanish.
• Nice to have: experience approving structural designs within a design organization delegation.

Responsabilidades

• Design and validate composite and hybrid airframe structures, optimizing for weight, cost, performance, and safety.
• Develop structural architectures and generate complete mechanical assembly documentation for manufacturing.
• Collaborate with Manufacturing, Stress, Materials, and Services teams to troubleshoot production and in-service issues.
• Interface with external partners during design reviews, test reports, and project follow-ups.
• Prepare technical documentation and structural definitions for civil and military aircraft certification processes.

Job Description

An opportunity for a Structural Design Engineer has arisen within Airbus Defence and Space in Getafe (Madrid). The selected candidate will join the Aerostructures Design area, a dynamic and multidisciplinary team applying cutting-edge composite technologies and full 3D modeling procedures (3DExperience) under an AGILE methodology. This area is responsible for the structural design, integration, and sustaining of major airframe components for key programs including EUROMALE, Dassault Falcon (10X, 7X/8X), and the SAETA II advanced jet trainer. This role offers an excellent opportunity to collaborate in concurrent engineering to solve complex production issues and drive digital product innovation.

Responsibilities

• Design and validate composite and hybrid airframe structures, optimizing them for weight, cost, performance, and product safety.
• Develop structural architectures and generate complete mechanical assembly documentation for manufacturing.
• Collaborate in concurrent engineering with Manufacturing, Stress, Materials, and Services teams to troubleshoot production and in-service issues.
• Interface with external partners and stakeholders during technical design reviews, test reports, and project follow-up meetings.
• Prepare technical documentation and structural definitions to support civil and military aircraft certification processes.

Qualifications

• Education: Aeronautical or Industrial (Mechanics) Engineering degree, or a related discipline.
• Experience: At least 7 years of professional experience as an engineer/designer on aircraft structural design activities.
• Technical knowledge: Deep understanding of composite structures, proficiency in CATIA, PDM/PLM tools, and configuration management methods.
• Soft skills: Proactive problem solver, highly motivated to learn new skills, excellent communication, and agility to adapt to change.
• Languages: Negotiation level in both English and Spanish.
• Valuable / Nice to have: Experience in checking/approval of structural designs within a Design Organization technical signature delegation framework.
