Destinus is seeking an experienced Stress Engineer to design, analyze, and optimize structural and mechanical systems across subsonic to hypersonic flight. You will contribute to FEM models, size loads, and support tests and certification efforts in collaboration with cross-disciplinary teams.

The role emphasizes strong analytical skills, experience with metallic and composite aerospace structures, and proficiency in Matlab, with English required and Dutch/Spanish/French/German an advantage.

Formación

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Aerospace Engineering or related discipline.
  • 5–10 years of experience as an aerospace stress engineer.
  • Experience in the turbomachinery sector is preferred.
  • FEM experience from modeling to analysis and post-processing.
  • Strong stress calculations/analytical methods knowledge.

Responsabilidades

  • Perform detailed structural and structural/thermal analyses and sizing of aerospace structures, components, and systems.
  • Guide structural optimization and design improvements.
  • Deliver detailed FEM models used for analysis from GFEM to detailed analysis.
  • Define sizing loads and load cases for detailed analysis.
  • Deliver preliminary sizing calculations, hand calculations, and simplified estimates.
  • Support ground and flight tests.
  • Deliver detailed technical reports and presentations.
  • Assist in development of manufacturing, integration, and test processes and procedures.
  • Support qualification and certification process.

What you'll do
  • Perform detailed structural and structural/thermal analyses and sizing of aerospace structures, components, and systems
  • Guide structural optimization and design improvements

  • Deliver preliminary sizing calculations, hand calculations, and simplified estimates to inform the design
  • Support ground and flight tests
  • Deliver detailed technical reports and presentations
  • Assist in the development of manufacturing, integration, and test processes and procedures
  • Support the definition and execution of the qualification and certification process.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree and/or Master's Degree in Aerospace Engineering or a related discipline
  • 5-10 years of experience as an aerospace stress engineer
  • Experience in Turbomachinery sector
  • FEM experience, from building models to analysis, postprocessing, and debugging
  • Experienced with stress-hand calculation/analytical methods
  • Experience with both metallic and composite lightweight structural design for aerospace
  • Experience with Matlab
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Knowledge of the English language is required. Knowledge of Dutch, Spanish, French, or German language is an advantage
  • You are resilient, open to change, and manage stress positively
