The Ritz-Carlton Tenerife, Abama invites a dedicated Steward to join our Food & Beverage team on site in Tenerife. You will maintain the cleanliness of china, glassware, silverware, and work areas, while supporting daily service across outlets in a fast-paced luxury environment.

Responsabilidades

• Operate and oversee proper use of dishwashing equipment and kitchen cleaning machinery.
• Clean, sort, and store china, glassware, silverware, kitchen utensils, and other operating equipment.
• Ensure items used during service meet cleanliness, hygiene and presentation standards.
• Maintain dishwashing areas, storage spaces and workstations as clean and sanitary.
• Collaborate with Kitchen and F&B teams to ensure availability of clean equipment during service.
• Remove waste and dispose of trash in compliance with safety regulations.
• Monitor condition of items and report breakages or needs for replacement.
• Safely handle cleaning chemicals and equipment following safety standards.
• Comply with food safety, hygiene, occupational health and safety regulations.
• Support general cleaning and organizational tasks in Kitchen and F&B areas as required.
• Assist with receiving, storage and organization of deliveries and supplies.

Your Responsibilities Will Include...

• Operate and oversee the proper use of dishwashing equipment and kitchen cleaning machinery.
• Clean, sort, and properly store china, glassware, silverware, kitchen utensils, and other operating equipment according to established procedures.
• Ensure that all items used during service meet the company's cleanliness, hygiene, and presentation standards.
• Maintain dishwashing areas, storage spaces, and assigned workstations clean, organized, and sanitary at all times.
• Collaborate with Kitchen and Food & Beverage teams to ensure the continuous availability of clean operating equipment throughout service.
• Remove waste and dispose of trash appropriately in compliance with food safety and hygiene regulations.
• Monitor the condition of china, glassware, utensils, and equipment, reporting breakages, losses, or replacement needs as necessary.
• Safely handle cleaning chemicals, equipment, and tools in accordance with company procedures and safety standards.
• Ensure compliance with food safety, hygiene, occupational health, and workplace safety regulations.
• Support general cleaning and organizational tasks within Kitchen and Food & Beverage operational areas when required.
• Assist with the receiving, storage, and organization of deliveries, supplies, and operational materials.
• Maintain effective communication with supervisors and colleagues to ensure smooth daily operations.
• Immediately report any incidents, equipment malfunctions, or unsafe working conditions identified during the workday.
• Contribute to a positive, collaborative work environment aligned with the company's values and service culture.
• Protect the confidentiality of guest and company information at all times.
• Perform other reasonable job duties as requested by supervisors or management.

What We Are Looking For...

• High School Diploma, Secondary Education Certificate, or equivalent.
• Previous experience in a similar role within hospitality, restaurants, catering, or food service operations will be considered an advantage.
• Basic knowledge of food safety, hygiene, and sanitation standards.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a high level of organization.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness and quality.
• Ability to work efficiently under pressure and consistently perform repetitive tasks.
• Positive attitude, reliability, and strong teamwork skills.
• Ability to follow operational procedures and instructions effectively.
• Good communication skills and ability to collaborate with different departments.
• Flexibility to work different shifts, including weekends and holidays, depending on operational needs.
• Physical ability to perform the duties associated with the role.
• Basic Spanish language skills; additional languages will be considered an advantage.
• Valid work permit for Spain.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience in luxury hotels, resorts, or high-volume food service operations.
• Training or certification related to food handling, food safety, hygiene, or sanitation.
• Knowledge of industrial dishwashing equipment and professional cleaning products.
• Experience working under hospitality quality and service standards.
• Familiarity with sustainability practices, recycling initiatives, and responsible waste management procedures.
• Experience collaborating with Kitchen and Food & Beverage teams in high-end hospitality operations.
