News Corporation’s Dow Jones Technology team in Barcelona seeks a Staff Software Engineer to modernize real-time news systems and content services feeding Newswires, Factiva and WSJ. You will work across AWS, microservices, data pipelines, and service meshes in a fast-paced environment.

The role requires 7+ years in software development, Java in Linux, and expertise in RESTful APIs, CI/CD, security, and Agile teams. Competitive base pay and comprehensive benefits are offered.

Formación

• 7+ years of experience in software development.
• Experience creating and deploying microservices in a service mesh environment.
• Experience implementing RESTful APIs following industry standards.
• Experience with CI/CD, distributed multi-region systems, high availability and disaster recovery.
• Experience writing secure code and addressing security vulnerabilities.
• Experience with Agile/Scrum in a geographically and culturally diverse team.
• 5+ years building high-performance backend systems as a full stack software engineer.
• 5+ years as a Java developer in a Linux environment.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field is preferred.

Responsabilidades

• Engage in all phases of the software development lifecycle to design, develop, test and deploy high quality solutions using Agile/Scrum.
• Work with AWS Cloud, Docker, Kubernetes, service mesh tools and data pipelines.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to manage scope, milestones and timelines on technical projects.
• Provide guidance and training to management and other stakeholders.
• Stay updated on industry trends and technologies relevant to content services.
