Cloudera is looking for a Staff Engineer to lead the development and architecture of its Apache Iceberg distribution. The ideal candidate will take ownership of data processing systems, collaborating closely with cross-functional teams, product managers, and customers to enhance product features and integrate improvements.

The position requires deep technical expertise, a passion for clean coding, and effective communication skills, with a focus on developing capabilities for managing extensive data environments.

Formación

• 6+ years experience or master's degree with 4-6 years or PhD with 2-4 years.
• Hands-on programming and strong data-structures knowledge required.
• Experience with systems design is necessary.

Responsabilidades

• Drive the future of data architecture contributing to Apache Iceberg.
• Implement new features in Iceberg and improve performance.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to shape Iceberg for modern data lakes.

Conocimientos

Experience with data structures and algorithms

Programming in Java, Scala, C++, or Python

Systems design and development

Strong problem-solving skills

Effective communication skills

Educación

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent
