Capitole is seeking a Staff AI Platform Engineer to help build the next generation of our AI-powered Internal Developer Platform. This hands-on role involves creating complex, reusable tools and enabling hundreds of engineers and data scientists to deploy software faster and more safely.

You will design and implement platform components, including AI agents, AI-powered CLIs, Kubernetes Operators, and Golden Paths, while mentoring others and shaping architecture with prototypes and code reviews.

Opportunity – Staff AI Platform Engineer

We are looking for a Staff AI Platform Engineer to help us build the next generation of our AI-powered Internal Developer Platform.

About the role

In this deeply hands-on role, you will lead through technical excellence by building the platform's most complex, business-critical capabilities. You will design, build, and evolve reusable platform tools—including AI agents, AI-powered CLIs, Kubernetes Operators, and Golden Paths—to empower hundreds of engineers and data scientists to deploy software faster, safer, and with greater autonomy.

What we’re looking for:

• Proven hands-on track record delivering production software in Python (primary language) and Go for systems-level components (Kubernetes Operators/controllers).
• Solid experience designing and building large-scale developer platforms used by large engineering organizations, with a strong focus on Developer Experience (DevEx).
• Deep experience with cloud architecture, particularly AWS, as well as containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes, ArgoCD/Flux).
• Active leverage of AI-native engineering workflows (Claude Code, Cursor, Copilot, etc.) to accelerate delivery, with bonus points for building AI agents, RAG, or MCP infrastructure.
• Technical leadership by example: a mentor who shapes architecture through prototypes, code reviews, and reference implementations rather than rigid processes (~10+ years of software experience is a helpful guide, but impact matters most!).
