dLocal is seeking a Staff Engineer to design and evolve high-performance Java systems powering payment routing, fraud prevention, and anomaly detection for global merchants.

You will collaborate with product and technology leaders to translate goals into scalable architectures, lead Java-based projects using Spring/Hibernate, optimize performance, and ensure reliability across cloud deployments and production environments.

Formación

• Bachelor’s degree in software engineering or computer science is required.
• 7+ years of professional Java development experience.
• Strong Java application development and software architecture skills.
• Solid object‑oriented design principles and patterns.
• Able to write clean, efficient, readable code.
• Experience with AWS or GCP cloud platforms is desirable.
• Experience with Spring and Hibernate frameworks.
• Able to solve complex software system issues.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Team player with cross-team collaboration in the organization.
• Upper‑intermediate English proficiency and strong SDLC knowledge.
• Experience with production telemetry and monitoring tools.

Responsabilidades

• Collaborate with technology leaders and the product team to translate goals into technical solutions.
• Design, develop, and maintain high-quality Java applications and systems aligned with business objectives.
• Lead the technical architecture and design of Java‑based projects, ensuring scalability, performance, and maintainability.
• Create scalable architecture systems for Java‑based applications, considering future growth and evolving needs.
• Optimize application performance by addressing code, database queries, and resource usage.
• Troubleshoot design flaws and system bottlenecks to enhance stability and performance.
• Perform validation tests to ensure flexibility and scalability of the Java environment.
• Conduct comprehensive system performance tests to identify bottlenecks and capacity needs.
• Generate and present detailed systems reports with performance metrics and recommendations.
• Conduct code reviews and provide constructive feedback to maintain high standards.
