Scopely is seeking a Staff Server Engineer to join our new unannounced project in Barcelona on a hybrid basis (three days on-site). You will lead backend features for a large-scale MMO game and collaborate with cross-functional teams.

You will mentor engineers, optimize scalable architectures, and uphold code quality. Visa sponsorship and relocation support are available to help you join our distributed game studio.

Formación

• Experience leading backend teams and mentoring engineers.
• Proven ability to design and ship backend features for large-scale systems.
• Strong collaboration across product, design, and other engineering teams.
• Deep understanding of microservices, cloud-native development, and container orchestration.

Responsabilidades

• Lead development of new backend features for our MMO game.
• Work within a cross-functional team to drive core technologies and features.
• Mentor members of the backend teams and review code regularly.
• Identify bottlenecks and propose scalable technical strategies.
• Refactor and optimize code for performance and maintainability.
• Collaborate with other engineering teams to ensure cohesive backend architecture.
• Enforce best practices for code quality and distributed systems.
